I clearly remember the post you're thinking of, but 30 minutes of searching and I can't find it either! I seem to remember him saying that he found them on eBay, that they were Hitachi, and that he went to the ebay seller's web site to get a better deal... I'm going to move to the laptop beside the couch and look some more... maybe a cold will enhance my searching skills Heath

Another 30 minutes of searching and nothing. Found them on eBay for about $65 each, and at Infiniti of Scottsdale for $71.21ea.... I would probably spring for the extra $40 to get the OEM ones. Good luck! Heath

Can you adapt 90-96 coil packs? They seem to be pretty bullet proof and available for $10 each on Ebay.

Infiniti of Scottsdale a/k/a http://www.infinitipartsusa.com - commonly referred to as "Joe" - the parts manager there. Great group of guys... I have been ordering all of my parts there since the late 90's.http://www.trademotion.com/par...gid=1 Good luck! Heath

Careful of aftermarket or oem reject coils sold at discount stores or ebay, we have been seeing MANY which fail of were just bad when installed by owner or shops. Can drive you battey when the customer insist it has new coils. yeah junk coils!

Wow... a price reduction by Nissan? I didn't think it was possible... maybe injectors will be next! Just to see if there was a mistake on Joe's site, I checked Seawell.... $75 there. http://www.trademotion.com/par...gid=0 Heath

I bought one recently and it was $90, they said the website was wrong, not $71 the website showed the coil avail in 2 different styles / components, and they said that was not accurate either, they come only one way: boot, coil and bracket all assembled. still better than local parts store for $120.

90-95 require external transistors to switch coils [what's in ignitor x 4 x 2] whereas the 96-2009 have the transistors integrated inside coil assembly.Having the transistors inside the assembly vs external [with heat sinks] is the most likely cause of limited life after 100k. No point making things last too long when you can save a buck or 100 Yen. After all new car buyers rarely keep car to 100k most dump them when warranty expires. Due to inflation since 1995 manufacturers have had to save money everywhere to keep prices below $50k.............flimsy this and that it adds up. With 100,000 parts saving 10 cents on each one is $10,000.............they probably saved $80 by droping ignitors.
