RB20DET cam question YES I SEARCHED

I was wondering if the rb20det Intake and exaust cams where the same or not. Any one know the exact specs. I am wondering if i could do a mild cam upgrade using 2 exaust or intake cams in one head.

the intake cam does not have provision for a CAS, so having one (intake cam) installed on the exhaust side would just cause more variables to be addressed.

Yes and I believe the exhaust cam is a smaller duration and lift than the intake cam, making that a pointless upgrade.

I've searched the **** out of the specs for stock rb20 cams and found mixed results. Some say they're both 240 duration with a 7.5mm intake lift and 7.3mm exhaust, some say 240 intake 232 exhaust, Every new set of specs I've found points to the intake cam being larger though.

I've seen large gains from properly adjusted aftermarket cam gears if you're looking to doing a budget cam upgrade.

stock silvertop intake cam is 240* with exhaust being 248*use an intake cam from a redtop rb20 for 248* duration...but may not be worth the trouble.

Well i have a silver top and an extra set of cam laying around so i just figured id ask. Thanks for the input.

what about just getting an exhaust cam and putting it on the intake side considering its 248 vs 240 kinda like the what you can do with a ka and just degree it.

Here are the stock cams for a lot of cars (including the RB's) from Tomei. I found this a few years ago... not the easiest thing to find. Had to put it in Excel to make it fit...
