I reach over to open my car and it just popped off, what was bad was that at first i didn't realize that the handle itself was off already so i pulled even harder and i think that just made things worse.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

interesting. that makes 3 things now that i've said that have been turned into sigs. lawl

This door handle problem sucks, I'll be tossing in my sleep worse than a raft that Tom Hanks was on while starring in a really bad movie about being stranded on an island befriending a volleyball.

First time I've heard of that happening. Be carefull on how hard you pull on the handle.

Seems pretty shoddy.

Good luck with that fix, that's insane.

The stupid part is that when the handle itself detaches it is completely released from the locking mechanism, so when its off and pulled the door won't open at all even if its unlocked. So even if i go to lightly feather it open it will still come off and i have no way of getting in the car unless i press the handle into the door while lifting the latch, and that looks

utterly stupid.

you know if you hold the unlock button on your remote your windows roll down, then use the handle from the inside. if its not raining of coarse. other than that this pic does look like there is some sort of bolt......

i share an altima with my dad until i get a z this summer and we recently learned that if you hold the unlock and lock button it prevents the honk when you lock the doors. Its always fun to discover things you've always had available!

Anyone else have other secret tricks about the zee i should no about?

Good news folks, the prawblem has just escalated to level red. It appears the bottom part is also beginning to snap off.

I'll show some daytime pics later, I was able to get a clear shot of what appears to be the threads of a certain bolt and a piece of plastic which looks cracked.

buh, I'm glad to pioneer this problem as it seems that nobody on here or 350z-tech has had this problem.

Those are the only two tricks with the keyfob, windows won't roll up but some company makes a module to add that to your car. Also did you try just pushing it hard and maybe it will snap into place? If not then you would have to take off the door panel and screw it back into place, since you have to be able to take handles on and off for painting and what not.

yeah you can push it back in no problem, but its so sensitive to pop back out even just closing the door will push it out.

Well here are some daytime pics for better visibility, I'm sure none of you have failed to recognize the gap is now stretched out slightly more.

Handle is now 98.6% useless unless supported by your hand.

This now not only poses a threat to safety but now security.

ehh i decided to do this too only a few months back. thought it looked good, plus the exchanging faces i see in my mirrors daily from people passing by is priceless.

On the part with the screw, it looks like a part of the plastic covering the screw is snapped off. You can see the ragged edge of the plastic, and a small crack still running through it near the bottom.

It looks as if the handle is hollow so my bet is that it is threaded on the door somewhere. I would think it seems as if its located underneath the big red circle, looks like there's a little pop cover.

If you could take a picture of that area of the inner door, I could better see where you would pop a cover off to screw it back on.

As for other tricks, you can also operate the power windows with the door key lock, insert the key and turn and hold. Each direction operates the window opposite.

As for the door. Held by two screws shown in diagram

i just noticed that then went out to my car and checked it out..... hopefully this solves the problem... (photo's)

Here is the rubber plugs hiding the handle screws....

I used my thumb and fingers to pull them out (not hard)

And there it is, bottom one comes off just as easy. SHIZAAM!

Oh and by the way i think your fairlady badge looks a little off.....

something doesn't look right does it???? LOL

about the door handle though, i would take it off and see if there is anything wrong with it before just tightening it back up. Might be a trashed thread....

Thanks bud, that diagram helped.

It appears something cracked and yeah before i came back on here i was alsopopping at that little plastic cover piece, i noticed it earlier but then it started raining so i had to close my door and try again later.
