"engine brake"?Important to know whether an engine has a belt or a chain. Important to ask the years and mileage on the BELT.
If timing belt breaks there is a high probablity that the ENGINE WILL BREAK as the valves bend and jam from contact with piston..............there is no separate BRAKE per se, other than the rear parking cog in an AT.
Always be careful as the starter has enough torque to really trash a locked engine.
