No biggie, but anybody else notice all the j's on ebay and some other pic's that show the exact same steering wheel cover? maybe I'm paranoid but they look so damn similar that it just seems hard to be coincidence. Did some of the j's come with a factory cover, seems to me to be a possibility. I'll take some pic's of mine and post em' let me know.

I've owned 2 Js and had different covers on each.

I haven't noticed that all Js have the same cover.

I don't shop on EBay, so I never noticed.

But whatever the case, I'd slap on a new cover & be done with it.

I have a tan one from walmart slapped on there. Matches the interior fairly well.

I have a steering wheel cover I took off my G20. I love it. It has little raised dimples on it which keep your hand from making full contact with the steering wheel, which before I had it would often burn my hand when I first got in the car after it was sitting in the sun on a hot day.

Worn steering wheels are the result of skin oils and acids in sweat. The Japanese solve this with white cotton gloves.

My actual steering wheel is in excellent condition. I put the cover on for its heat insulating qualities and I like the thicker steering wheel it creates.

For whatever reason, the leather one the J's steering wheel was very easily scratched. Maybe the cows in Japan are thin?

The leather on the steering wheel on the Acura is durable, even more durable on the Saab.

I have a aftermarket wheel cover on mine. The best leather wheel covers I've seen are from wheelskins (I think that's what the brand name is). If installed properly, they look OEM.

I couldn't agree more. I don't know if it was my wife or my son's previous girl friend who had a nervous habit of picking at the leather. Our wheel is all pot-holed at 10 and 2, so thank you for the after-market wheel cover source tip.

Do you simply install the new cover over the old one?

wheelskins go right over the existing steering wheel. On some of the fancier versions there is some quasi-stitching that you have to do (not with a needle though), you just loop it through the grommets and tie it off. If you take your time and follow the instructions, the finished result look OEM. A number of members through the years have used wheelskins.

I found this forum after I purchased a steering wheel cover for my teenage daughter's 93 J30. It's a wheelskins one, so I feel good that I made the right choice. I'll very girlishly admit that I went with wheelskins because it had the right color - I wanted it to match. I know, such a girl answer.

Anyway, now I'm searching through the forums to see if anyone is still using their pre-installed Infiniti carphone. With the new hands-free law in CA, I'm wondering if there's a way to rig it to work with my daughter's existing cell number/phone. Anyone done this or still using their car phone? Is it even do-able?

how do they look, kinda wood-like?? yea, i got one of those on mine. if thats the one ur talkin about... its probably cuz the car has a little bit of wood trim on it, so most dealers would figure that the wood-like wheel cover would give it a better accent...

thats my 2 cents on the matter... LOL
