i have some 26mms and have an op. to trade them in for 30mms with a fee but they don't remember if it has the nissan logo on them. i love to see it say nissan on the calipers but will settle (or might not) for some 3omms unbranded so i can upgrade in rotor size...maybe 350tracks or mustang cobraz... anyone know if the autozone (or such stores) say nissan or anymore info about them???

hope this is easier on the eye

I can only assume you are talking about the calipers? If they are reman'd they will have the NISSAN casting. Honestly I have yet to see any new aftermarket calipers that are blanked out. Could be wrong though.

not sure? ever seen a pair of calipers from an autozone type store? i have a fully functional pair of 26 mms and kinda feel low about it....i got all 4 for 150 and it's 82 per caliper to trade them in for 30mms...does anyone have 26 mms and wish they had 30mms for more stopping power? is anyone content with these calipers? thanks

iirc? not sure what that means but i just think it cant because its not an officaial nissan product unless its rebuilt...does anyone have any thoughts about these calipers without the logo? kinda ricey? there's so many more options with wider calipers though. just a thought, thankx

iirc = if I recall correctly

ricey? man... the pupose of larger calipers is to upgrade in your braking power. wtf does a logo have to do if its doing it's job.

i feel you on that but just throwing that out there to see how the 240 community thinks. has anyone upgraded to the cobra rotors 13inches? the 350z tracks are 12.75. some say both are too much...http://my240.epijunkie.com/5_Lug_and_Z3 ... ersionwhat do you(s) think? thanks

They do have the logo. I got mine from Autozone. When people bring in the core, they use that to rebuild the calipers.

hm. confirmed then...

I guess cuz I remember talking to my buddy awhile back when he used to work at vatozone and he told me he can get me a set of rebuilt calipers at a good price... and the pic he sent me didn't have the nissan logo.

They are here. When you get them they will be covered in grease and they will be all gray in color

I cleaned them off and then painted them. Do remember that it will come off with contact to brake fluid and other liquids. They chip very easy. I just painted mine for the hell of it.

Is a 4mm thicker rotor REALLY going to translate into increased stopping power?

I have 26mm and the only reason I want to go to 30mm is for the increase in availability of rotors...26mm aftermarket rotors are few and far between. But I'm pretty lazy so I don't see myself upgrading anytime soon.

i know it may seem like 4mms but with the 30mm calipers you can stuff different rotors into them. not sure if you guys know but the 30mms can take 350z track edition rotors that are 12.75inches instead of the 11" z32 and you can also use the 13" cobra rotors with an adaptor but that's only 50 to 60 dollars.

think of it as a stoptech or brembo upgrade but still nissan

if it ever turned into that in the long run, you can trade your 26mms for 30 with 82 each and upgrade. not for everyone, true but way less then other setups. anyone's blood rushing after this? im sorry, i was soOo excited when i found out

well that's always a plus. some ppl use grade 8 metric bolts which are camparable to grade 5 english. they get soft with heat and can snap so use grade 12.9 grade alloy steel bolts with socket head cap screw which cost more but are safer. just throwing that out there for anyone serious about fabricating it themselves

Make sure you can actually get them first lol. You're not the first person to think about this. Many autozones, especially those in big metro areas have those things on indefinite backorder from 240 guys buying them + the core charge.

definately, some dont even have them in the warehouses but 240s are now getting popular in the jersey area. the honda sceen is dying down but still the best thing to gasoline outhere are the k series motors and i don't mean the KA. we have a few strong car clubs like NJtuners, PriDe, and definately regiment zerO holding NJ down. basically they arent that hard to get at is what i'm saying. im definately not going to by the 350z rotors without the 30mm caliplers if thats what you mean.
