Best Twin Turbo Upgrade for RB26DETT

Looking to upgrade my stock twins. Haven't found many resources on the best turbo upgrades and I was wondering if any of you could advise.

I'm looking to have good response for road racing, about 450 whp (more if I want to put racing gas in and turn up the boost).

or some GT2530's

Either way, hit up the track first. The car has plenty of power already. Anymore at this point and your not even got be able to drive it. Also your gonna want to get better tires asap.

Also don't run high boost on the turbos for too long. Their have the ceramic wheels and you'll risk destroying the turbos and possibly the motor

Wow. That is a nice laundry list of parts you have..

What group / sanctioning body are your racing with?

Not planning on upgrading it within the next 12 months. I'm just trying to get some opinions because I plan on upgrading down the road and it's never too early to research or obsess.

I'm busy getting the car up to track spec. I'm not a professional nor do I race in leagues. Just a weekend warrior.

When I purchased the car, it was tuned to 17 psi. From what I've read this is just asking for trouble. I'm turning the boost down to 15 psi and setting the fuel cutoff at 7500rpm, then the car goes onto the dyno for a retune next friday. I'm turning the fuel cutoff down to that rpm because it has the oem oil pump. Currently having installed: tomei oil baffle, oil catch pan for the breather system, new steering rack, defi amber oil temp gauge, aem wideband sensor and gauge, and seibon carbon fiber hood.

Hoping to get somewhere in the ballpark of 350-375 whp. It'd be sweet if it goes above 400whp. The map that was just pulled off the power fc was pretty much base. Was said to have 408 WHP at 17psi... so maybe if the tune was weak I will have even more with a re-tune.

The GT looks very nice, indeed. Next year I'll begin the parts hunt for 550 whp.

GT2860R -5 is a great bet for 550 whp and is as close to an HKS 2530 as you can get. The 2860R also comes in a -7 trim for lower spool rpm, but lower top end. 400 whp is starting to push it.

Not all R34 turbos are ceramic wheeled. I don't know offhand how to tell, but if you've got the steel wheels and ball bearings you're good to go for quite a bit of power!

Nice list of parts! I'll bet it pulls well.

So if I run 15 psi I should have a good number if the N1 makes 488@17. Shweet.

Just wondering, why you went with OEM water and oil pumps over N1 when you are building the car for tracking? I would have at least expected an N1 oil pump.

Also, when I asked about sanctioning bodies, like SCCA / NASA for what group you were in. I highly enjoy HPDE and road racing, but since I have a swap done, I would be put into an 'unlimited' class, that is why I was inquiring with you.

Or maybe in AZ you don't have to be a member of a club to drive on a track? Not trying to be an ***. Just wondering.

the swap was in when I bought the car. only has 8k miles on it and was just completed in late february 2008. I am scratching my head at a few of the decisions they made when building the motor. g-dimension in cali was the shop behind the build. I definitely plan on upgrading the oil pump down the road, but it's a brand new oem so it should last this season if I drive the car properly. I don't think I'm going to go with an N1, I plan on getting the tomei pump and custom fabricating a pan. should be a solid 3k for that lol.

i'm having to upgrade the oil system so I won't starve it on the track. it already has upgraded inserts for the oil galleries so I don't flood the head over time and with the tomei baffle and hks oil cooler I should be ok. from what i've read, the oem pump does just fine as long as you keep at or under 7500rpm, and you don't bounce the limiter like the drifting folks. i may get into that scene, but I've never tried it before so we'll see. hehe

no worries, i didn't take offense or see your question as rude at all. I'm not sure exactly what class I'll be in over time, but I know that i'll be starting in the beginner class for the first day at least because I haven't driven with NASA before. I used to drive in the B Class with the alfa club because I had been with them for a few years. I was in my old gutted 1990 integra with a solid 146whp. I will probably run in the unlimited with this car, you're right. I'm going to sign up this week and I'll tell you where they plan on putting me.

im putting down 368rwhp @15psi on my stock twins and i just bought my hks gt2530 turbos for my rb26 so i can get closer to 500whp and then i will be good cause anymore then that my car would be strictly a drift car lmao.
