from a new swap, red top sr20 ecu #62

symptoms

- the starter cranks but motor doesnt turn over- attached a noid light to the injectors and it doesnt light up- I put the key and turn it to 2, (the notch before ignition) - the ecu light doesnt come on when I turn the key, - I cant activate the diagnostic mode, it does nothing. - I opened it up, but there are no visible burn marks.

I had a bad ground for my battery that I just replaced. Previously I may have flooded the ecu with current and fried it.... i dont know

what else should I check for?

what harness are you using , maybe you got a black top harness , get the serial off the harness and check if you got injection pulse on all of the injectors, also if the computer is led is not on at all you will never get spark nor injection pulse

so have you ad it running before.

the light on the ecu never comes on. unless your in diagnostic mode then it just blinks

so the motor is cranking?

are you getting spark? fuel? air?

no, this is the first time.

Ive had it running before, this ecu, harness, and motor we're in another chassis. I exported them all here to this on...

light never comes on? until I go into diagnostic?ok and how do i activate diag. mode.

rotate the nob counter clockwise and hold?

It does crank, but injectors and spark plugs get no juice.

none of those, it seems like everything on the upper harness is dead. I need to go through the fuses and relays...

I do have a fuse tester...

OK, I was instructed to check the ECU ground for current.

if its not getting current then its a relay/fuse/or the harness. if it is? the ecu is dead.

key is in

ecu ground wire scored

held up the + prong on the volt meter ( is this right? or do I also need to hook up the negative? )

no action, so electricity isnt making its way to the ecu... at all. bad wiring, bad fuses, or bad relays.

getting a fuse tester tomorrow, as well as relays from the Nissan dealership

something that was also interesting.

this relay is badly connected and alsmost completely free. blurry pics sorry. new ones coming.

the black wire goes to a ground.

there are four prongs, 3 are missing wires.

I wish I knew what it was for.

Also I installed an Altima fan

you can see the bottom on both sides where I had to chop so it would fit. it slid in real nicely. maybe later ill paint the shround black again.

I've yet to wire it and and a thermo. I may also scrap my AC core and make a custom one, that ill put on the back of the intercooler with a fan attached.

For those of you passers by... I sold this problem.

amazingly my car got towed a few days after i posted this thread and it took me three weeks to get it back.

finally i swapped ina new body harness (both fuse boxes and the loom)... and it worked... the motor fired up and was fine.
