Nailpolish?how's that work?pics?email me [email protected] was thinking of smoking my tail lights. But i like that red.VIP_Q45T wrote:At the house i have a heater gun so i went to the tinting shop bought a piece of red tint and tinted the orange part. even if you look close u really cant notice where the tint comes in cause i apllied transparent nailpolish where the line ended and on top or the taillight no so water sneaks in.
Haha yeah that's exactly what I figured, that the red internet kits were just window tint film. I wasn't too far off with my estimation of time either, I figured they would need replacement every 2 years with those kits. It's probably mid or low grade film.. I would definitely search out some good quality for the beloved Q.VIP_Q45T wrote:those red taillights kits they sell in the internet are just window tint. If u get a good tint from a tinting shop it could last u upto 3 years without loosing color, belive me i use to tint before i came in the army.
Well to let you know. If you can get a spare set of tails i can put leds in them. I have been doing led retros for a while. I am very fair on price and get them done very quick also.Haitian_King wrote:Pretty f-ing cool!
The tint was applied to the inside of the light housing right? I've always been unclear as to how it's done.
Now, if only we could get some flipping LED tails like the M45.
WOW! Do you have pictures of some of the work you've done? Getting spare tails is easy.kzoosho wrote:

I have worked on wes's old project led tails and the problem you run into with these cars is the car is looking for the current draw of a normal tail light bulb. If it doesn't see that current it will not allow the light to function as a fail safe and display that the tail lamp is inop. I tried disabling the sensor that reads current draw without success. Same thing with the stop lamp on the spoiler/rear window. I don't have enough experience with car electronics to figure out a solution but I have had Q45 tails working and looking awesome on a 12v source.kzoosho wrote:
