I'm looking for a nice, mostly stock s13 or s14 240sx. Must haves include 5 speed transmission, DOHC engine, and must be reliable enough to drive from where you live to where I live. I guarantee my truck will.1996 GMC Sonoma SLSwith push button four wheel drive and a 5 speed transmission. 4.3L V6 "X" code engine. Actually mileage is UNKNOWN, but I estimated it around 150,000. The previous owner swapped out the gauges because they were cracked with some gauges that had almost 200k miles on them. When he bought the truck it had 137k on it, and the title reflected it. I bought it with a bad transmission, he said he put about 8000 miles on it in his ownership. I replaced the transmission, clutch, pressure plate, TO baring, and slave cylinder last summer (have receipt), and have put about 10 thousand miles on it.
I'm a OCD oil changer. The oil has been changed every 3-5000 miles with FULL synthetic oil. The last change was done with mobil 1 for higher mileage vehicals and a mobil 1 filter in the middle of June.
It does have a few kinks which I will list below.
to sum it up
THE GOOD
New transmission, clutch kit, slave cylinder done in summer of 07 w/ aprox. 10k miles on it (with receipts)
Regular oil changes with quality oil
New rear U joint on the drive shaft in Jan. 08
New front axle half shafts done in May 08
New NGK plugs, OEM wires, distributor cap, and rotor button done in March 08
Consistent 22MPG
THE BAD
Paint is rough mainly on the bed. Most scratches will buff out. It looks great from a distance, though.
Minor oil leak. I check it everytime I fill up (twice a week), and sometimes it need oil, most of the time it doesn't. It's either the manifold gasket or rear main seal (both of which are problems with these engines)
No A/C at the moment. The fitting where the orifice tube goes into the evaporator is stripped, and will not seal. It may need a new evaporator. I'll throw in 3 cans of R134a with purchase or trade.
Has no side view mirrors. They both fell off, I may replace them before sale, though.
Exhaust leak, just needs some welding
Needs an alignment and front tires
Other than that it's a great running truck. I'd drive it to California and back with no worries (if I could afford the gas). The 4.3L V6 is a wonderful engine that will run forever if taken care of (which I have). It has developed a tick on the passenger side of the engine that could be an exhaust leak or a little build up on a lifter. I haven't really tried to figure out where it's coming from. I had planned on seafoaming with the next oilchange to see if it would clear up. It hasn't hampered driveability or fuel economy or performance in anyway.

I'll get some up to date pics or more pics at request. I'll have to clean it up a little first. I DID NOT paint the wheels. It came like that.
As for an asking price per forum rules I want $3500 OR BEST OFFER. Although I'm really wanting to trade for another 240sx. The truck blue books for $2500 in fair condition, $3500 in good condition. I spent $2000 on the transmission last summer. Clean title in hand.
If you have a nice 240 and want a project and a truck, I'll work out something for the s13 that is pictured with the truck. More info on it will be available by request.
I'm located in Grave County in the western part of Kentucky.
