I'm running Wiseco 84mm overbore pistons.
Piston oiler notch correct? No. There is a notch on the skirt but squirter hit webbing around piston pin. Squirter modification required.
Were they weighted? Yes. They were within 3-4 grams of eacother. The weights were written on the pistons to show they were "matched". I had them rebalanced within 1/2 gram. A higher priced piston would probably be matched better. What was the ring quality? Pretty much standard rings with a high quality oil control ring. Were they a consistent barrel size or did they vary a great deal? Dimension wise they were all identical in every measurement... The piston pins slid in with no resistance either. Spiral lock pin retainers are a ***** to install but very secure. Any special coatings? Yes. Piston skirts are coated with black anti-friction coating what clearance did they require? they wanted .003". Piston rings were spot on with the bore size too. No need to file any of the rings! noisy when cold and if so do they warm up quick and get quiet? N/A

Stockers in the CA but used CP's in the last rb25 I did. No complaints whatsoever.

I use CPs in the street engine and wiseco in the built engine. I've used wisecos back in 1999-2000 and they weren't bad, but my engine management was and it cost me those $500+ pistons in less than 1000 miles. Detonation was the villain, so check my sig................On the other hand, the CPs have been pretty good as well, but then again, there's a much better source of engine management fueling them too. Since the first wiseco set, I had some adjustments done to the piston ringland heights to get them away from detonation (if there's to be any). I also got modified valve reliefs to compensate for the big bumpsticks. The ring quality on both are pretty competent as well. Dee
Who's selling their CA18 next ? Forged pistons are no insurance for ignorance . Spending money foolishly doesn't equate to a high hp car . Dee

Arias pistons in mine, no problems with squirters, no special coatings and have huge valve recesses for increased lift... Unfortunatley I think they don't make them with the bigger recesses any more, I havent noticed them to noisy at start but others I have talked to mentioned some noise...
What on earth possessed him to build such a creation?

Custom CP piston. 83.5mm, approx 10:1 compression with thicker ring lands than standard, full floating wrist pin. Piston oiler notch correct? YES
Were they weighted? YES What was the ring quality? GOOD Were they a consistent barrel size or did they vary a great deal? VERY GOOD Any special coatings? NO (but available) what clearance did they require? I don't remember. It came with the spec sheet. noisy when cold and if so do they warm up quick and get quiet? YES, and YES

I'm in Japan so the price is big yennies. They will be boring and honing the block with a torque plate and flycutting the deck to true it up. It's going to set me back about $800. I have to ship the block to them in mainland, I'm down on a small island.

That's a RETARDED amount of money for block work!!! At the shop I use, boring is $25/cylinder, $50 for the decking, and another $25 to hot tank the block.

Everything is expensive here. The old man here who doesn't know what a torque plate is and can't even replace valve guides charges over $55 per cylinder and has tools that look 40 years old. Toda builds professional racing engines for GT300, F3 and F4.

Anyone using Mahle pistons? I know lots of race teams use them, and they have been in the piston business for over a century.
I'm like the Gangstalicious of NICO. ryan: It's not that I think he's retarded. It's that I was the one that gave him his gold medal at the special olympics. I KNOW tim is retarded. I hope I never meet him in real life actually. I'm like 6'2" 185lbs. Tim is prob like 6'7" 300lbs and eats live baby sheep for snacks during the day.

wow impressive!that's the only thing I wish I had when I was machining my block was a torque plate. It was crazy to see a block distort as much as .003" when the plate was removed after machining. So with $800 block work and $800+ pistons and I'm sure your getting other crazy parts to go with those as well...what are your goals for this engine? 500+hp? I mean that 400+hp CA wasn't nearly as built up as yours sounds like it's going to be...

Goal is it doesn't blow up. This will be my first build and my first time messing with the Haltech. It will be a long slow process to turn the power up. 300 would make me happy but I am building it to take 400. Nothing crazy just a daily driver.
