Hi all,I have a 2005 QX56 and I'm having some problem with the nav.I cannot change the States. It is always stay as California !!!I press on the Dest and select Address/Street...move the cursor to the State and when I press the Enter, it always say No Data!!!

I did not get the screen where I'm asked to enter the states as mentioned in the manual.

Is my nav gone bad???

Please help.

Do you have your home set as Ohio?

Let me try to understand this: is the vehicle cursor always in CA? If that is the case, maybe the GPS antenna cable is disconnected, but you also mentioned that when you enter address it shows no data - were you able to use the navigation at all in your area (Ohio)? When you are just driving around and no destination set in your nav, do you see the vehicle cursor moving and actually shows the map of your current location? Has your navi worked okay before? or this vehicle is just new to you, and this is the first time you use your navi?

My second assumption is that you DVD map disc is damaged. If not, then there is something terribly wrong with your navi unit, which is located under the front passenger seat...

Hi Best_Shot,I just got the SUV 2 weeks ago, so I'm not sure if everything was working before.

The Nav works while I'm driving. It shows correctly my current position as I'm driving along. The problem is when I try to set a destination. Its always in California and pressing the States bring up the error of no data.

LATEST UPDATES:I finally called Zenrin and the tech support rep told me that I need to bring the SUV back to the dealership for some hardware upgrade. The disc in the dvd drive is labelled as 6.4 and he told me that someone might have upgrade the disc without some re-programming.

So, if anyone buying a used QX56 or Armada with the NAV acting up like mine, just bring it back to the dealership.

Thanks to those who have replied me.

Yep - Zenrin rep is correct. For that model year of the Armada/QX56, it is not a straightforward just to put an updated map disc. There is a break point in the map updates that the Navi unit software must be updated as well.
