Depends on what games, on a budget pc your better to buy a decent processer and a NICE graphics card.....

but gaming isng gaming unless you have a graphics card

Take your pick. Personally I'd just get the Q6600, it's a kickass chip, cheap, and you can overclock is extremely easily to be a lot faster than the Q6700. Free performance.

Just make sure you get a motherboard that will let you overclock if overclocking is your plan

I have heard alot of good stuff about the Q6600, so I'll have a look around for one of them... I already have a 8800GT Graphics card so that base is covered lol umm... I'm not sure what my motherboard is though, any way i can check it to find out??

The new'ish AMD Phenom 9850 is supposed to be very overclock friendly.http://www.tigerdirect.com/app...40794

And comes in under 300.00, with no mobo though.
