  Sentra engine swap 11:42 PM 6/6/2008

Hi i have a 2005 nissan sentra 1.8 5-speed and i am thinking about swaping the engine to either a SR20DET or a SR20DET GTi-R... what all do i need to do and get in order to do the swap? the first link is the SR20DET the second is the SR20DET GTi-R... witch would be the best way to go and what all would i need to get extra other than one of the engines?

We've had members with the same car look into this before. Try searching this and the Sentra forum for more info.

Basically you'll need the harness, transmission, and front/rear motor mount crossmember off of an 00-01 Sentra SE for either swap, but the GTi-R is more involved. You'll also need a new ECU, there are a couple of options for how to approach that. A search should explain all of that better.

More trouble than its worth in my opinion. Find an older B13 Sentra SE-R, and just swap a DET right in. And keep your newer Sentra as a daily driver.
