08 Spec V Clutch Pedal Noise

I have an 08 spec v and at the end of the travel for the clutch pedal there is a crackling noise. It sounds like there are rice krispies under the pedal. I've tried grease and wd-40 and its still there. Any ideas?

I had a similar issue with the brake pedal. I just took it in to Nissan and they replaced the faulty part free of charge. They didn't really answer my question fully when I asked as to what the was making the noise, but I guess it didn't really matter as long as they fixed it.

Is the noise coming from the pedal assembly or the transmission?

I'd go bother the dealer about it since you're under warranty.

edit: Wow, this is an old thread... don't know how I missed it in June. Woops.

It's definitely from the pedal assembly. I'm probably going to bug the dealer again and see if I can get it replaced. Last time they gave me the bs response about it being the 'free travel' at the end of the stroke but ignored the noise issue entirely. I'll see what happens at my next service.

From experience, the spring that returns the pedal back to the original position has a tendency to get dry. Use a white lithium grease, grease the spring, and try it again. It probably won't make a crackling noise.
