I would recommend unlockerhttp://www.majorgeeks.com/Unlocker_d4660.html

but it had a virus the last time I downloaded it, but it was really easy to get rid of, so Use it at your own risk. BUt its a awesome program when it comes to that stuff...works everytime

You said you reloaded Windows.

Did you do a parallel install or did you delete the partition and then reinstall the OS?

A parallel install leaves all your files alone while installing windows into a different folder. This causes huge registry problems. Also it leave viruses intact from your previous install

a windows reloader came on my comp. it's a new way for them to not spend money and not giving you the disks.

it erased everything that was under my user.the hp version of xp is horrible, cause i can't delete anything from the previous users. this is my problem. windows is clear of viruses and everytime i reload windows it gives me my 30 day trail period of norton back.

Just use Windows PE or an Ubuntu live CD, hell, any bootable OS. Ubuntu's the easiest way in my opinion. Just download it, burn it, boot into it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ubuntu_Live_CD explains the concept.

http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download to download it.
