Me Vs. Tree

The tree won. Happened on a dirt road, not drifting. Right after the accident I called the claim and they told me i didn't have to call the pigs. Immedietally after the crash the kid in the back jumped out the car and ran for blocks cause he thought the police were coming. Spooked and almost crying I drop my buddy off, our original destination.

Should have stayed there but I was bloody, tired and wanted to go home. Crash happened at two AM. Go the back way home, leaking something. Make to my road and get pulled over. They get me for running a stop sign (rolling stop but im almost sure i stopped). Then investigated the crash. I guess they found out what tree it was, gave me a wreckless driving ticket for hitting it, then because of the property line it was on a hit and run charge.... on a tree.

When I first got pulled over it was a lady cop infimious for being a ***** here. Gun out "HANDS ON THE STEARING WHEEL!" gave her my registration and everything. Other guy tells me to step out. I roll my windows up and lock the door. I asked if I was being arrested or detained. He gave me the most d!ck grin here. Cops in this county are infimious for being d!ck, and im in the second if not worse city for police. As soon as he heard that he asked if I had anything, he patted me down and went for my car, then asked. Told him no. "Why, only people who have something to hide say that" I said "I don't concent to searches, I just want to get home". He holds off. Keep in mind i'm bleeding and tearing up about my baby (car). He holds off.

By now theres 7 cop cars, firetruck and the ambulance. Back hurts, face hurts, in mild shock. Have a neck brace on and they want to take me to the hospital. The police won't answer any of my questions. Am I still only detained? Can someone pick up my car? What are my charges? Where will I go after I get out? May I make a phone call?

They literally told me, you'll find out. How can they not tell me my charges? "were conducting an investigation) I said I don't have to go to ER even though they were begging me to (how bad I was shaking). I signed the paper and didn't go. I'm detained for about another hour. They finally tell me I was pulled because of stopsign and headlights. I'm still standing around, next thing I know theres a cop in my car and I poliletely and essertively said I didn't conset to a search. He reassured me with happiness he could search my car, because I was now under arrest... for the hit and run on the tree, which my insurance company told them I didn't have to call in. Ironically I said I want that in writing, joking around, but it's not funny anymore.

My mother knew about the accident and knew I was on my home, hours later she thought I may be at a friends and was going to head over only to see on her street completely illuminated in blue and red.

She was no help, she just stood around and told me to keep my mouth shut every time I exersized one of my rights as she thought it was rude. They decided to let me go but as I was signing the tickets, (one for wreckless driving BEFORE i hit tree, idk wtf that is), I was threated atleast 6 times that if I had an attitude I'd be taken in, this was the lady cop who pulled me over and drew her gun. Another man said he should have gaven me a DUI cause I seemed out of it when it first happened... shock? I was sober as can be.

Next day I find out I only have liability coverage and fixing my car will cost more than the car itself and im paying every penny of it.

I dunno, but If I was a cop, there to protect and serve, I wouldn't stop a kid who just got in a wreck and try to wrack up as many charges as possible. Especially on my street, I'd say get home kid. This has only made me more cold towards police when my mother showed up they treated me like a child. As an adult I wanted to know my charges, I needed the details. My mother knows nothing about the law, especially your rights.

Now I need to decide on getting a different car, or just put the money into mine and make it look better than before. I won't have my camera till tomorrow night but I'll take pics. I think my radiators leaking, my front is totaled and the frame/radiator harness is bent. I don't know what all is wrong with it besides cosmetics and the obvious bend in the parts of the frame.

Idk, I've gone from raging, to crying and just not giving a ****. I can't tell you how much I loved my car. All the money i'm using to fix it should be going towards suspension and engine, now I have to get back to base one AND empty my bank account this is what kills me the most.

I blew 100 at the strip last night to blow off some steam. maybe tonight too.

Since my front is totaled and I was going to .5 it eventually I think I'm pretty much forced to now. It'll be easier to convert it than find all OEM parts and new head and fog lights and such. I think I need the bumper, hood, and lights. Do I need the s15 OEM Radiator harness for the conversion, I need one anyways.

I'm bout to do some searching for everything i need to convert it, i'm thinking this will be the easiest way to go, maybe you all can help when I get pics up tomorrow.

I hate I'm paying more to fix the car than I bought it for, but the s15 kit should raise it's value. As I said above, whats killing me im emptying my bank to get back to base 1 instead of invest in stuff like the clutch I need or coilovers or an SR or RB or something.

so what happened that caused you to hit the tree? sounds like you need a new insurance company.

sounds like the police did their job to me, but im betting there's more to the story too.

sucks that you wrecked. be more careful next time and learn from this experience.

Just lost traction on a dirt road, over rev'd in 1st. The stopsign comes to a slanted stop so I was pointed at the tree, bad driving on my part, did everything I could to try to get out of the situation, it could have, would have been worse.

Only way to look at it is as a learning experience... a very, very expensive one. A lot more than I ever learned in school to.

The cop story part is almost dead on. If anything they'll keep an eye out for me because I tried to oversize my right. Here, it's common to get searched whenever pulled over because the amount of weed here is rediculious, so when I told them I didn't want them looking through my car, they assumed I knew to much for the wrong reason, and will never forget, or me. I live in a very small town. Only s14 in town too. I saw a s13 at winndixi yesterday and tripped. It was parked in the employ section so I was kinda pumped.

Now that my front is totaled, the .5 conversion sounds good, eh?

Oh ok. A responsible 18 year old 240 driver! Kudos!

I'm with d!ck. Stick with the Zenki front...

im with everyone else on keeping it stock looking...not a .5 conversion. Those dont flow with the S14 anyeways. Sorry to hear about your car too.

I'm still looking into the .5, I'm probably going to get hell for this but I was never really big on the zenki

I actually settled for it because I didn't want to drive 5 hours one way, then back for a Kouki (which I adore)

So, since I have to completely redo the front, I was going to change it up.

Personally, I think the .5 looks clean depending on the rest of the kit, I think if I kept it sleeper it would be styling, I like it with the s14 back. I love the s14 back. If im spending all that money for repair, I want a little novelty. A kouki conversion would have me content as well.

What im pissed about is weeks before I got my car, I got a plasma tv, ipod touch, surround sound. Stupid ****. I knew I should have waited and invested in my car. I could do so much more. Now would be the perfect time to drop a new engine in, but I'm just a little short. Now I need to worry about a new radiator and such, not to mention the new clutch/chassis work I needed before the wreck. Instead, I put 2k into sound, and bought a 500$ head unit. Which is worthless in a car not in use... and is about the price of a swap, im hating myself for that.

one thing I learned from all this and my money spending binge, is don't settle for anything and take your time. I ordered my Smoked LED taillights which will be here any day, too bad they won't be in use for a while.

I've never felt so lost, every relationship in my life ending at once wouldn't compare to the sadness and remorse I feel for my car. I can easily cry if I start thinking about it too much. I loooooooved my s14.

People tell me to get a beater just to get around for now, but thats wasting what I could be putting in my baby. I'm sold on the 240 for life. I want to still have her running when I have another newer car a decade from now.

If you go with the .5 ... just do it right. I have seen some very nice looking ones, but the ****ty ones look terrible.

This is what I'm here for, please refer me to some nice ones. I've been searching but the websites out there very in price so much and usually have horrible pictures. I almost ordered my LEDs from one site, but quickly searched and ordered it from another for 50$ less + free shipping.

I'm looking for a newegg for cars. I also check out the partout section a lot.

the reason I'm wanting to convert is because I don't want to deal with finding zenki fog lights, headlights + kit. I'd rather get it all in one. It's crazy most .5 kits don't come with lights. One site was charging over 600$ for s15 lights.

Even still, I think the conversion will be cheaper since I have to redo the whole front, it's already been mentioned I prefer the kouki, although I won't feel like I have a real one. I'm almost certain i'll convert. It's 50/50 s15:kouki. I really dont want to go through the trouble of repairing it when I can get a whole new* front end.

I'll get my camera tonight, depending on light ill take detailed pics tonight or tomorrow and have them up. I'll be happy if I can repair everything for under 3k.

Sorry for stealing the pic, I think I might have seen it here and saved it, if anyone know what kit this let me know since i'm forced on having to work on cosmetics right now please dont flame, I'm not trying to go rice, if you saw the thread of when I first got the car it was already dinged up, I was planning on going straight performance.

I think you're in for alot of fabrication, cuz everything on that car looks OEM... It's so well done that I don't think thats a kit...

now That you know what look i'm going for can someone help me out with a kit. I'm not too familiar with many companies and websites prices vary so much. whats a reliable place to order from? I plan on doing as much as I can myself and most the other stuff I can get my friends or friends of friends to do. All I have to do is buy the paint and they got me covered, for a small fee of course.

No one has said anything about the s15 OEM radiator harness yet, since I think im going with the .5 I don't know if it's just costmetic or if it will effect how my radiator fits.

On another note, I need a new radiator and radiator harness, so I need one anyways.

I'm pretty set on the .5, once shes running again I can worry about performance.

I just need to get the pics up so you guys can tell me the extent of my damage, I may have to take my engine out and fix parts of the frame or something.

Tomorrow I'm starting to scrap, take my totaled bumper and lights off and everything.

You were engine braking? i never shift all the way to 1st, cause traction isn't there, i go to 2nd and brake.

i also say keep the zenki front, but its your car.i just think there are better ways to spend your moneyyou might regret doing the .5 convo in the future.i mean what if you crash again?that would suck

after this much money going into it you better believe I'm changing up or upgrading my insurance. I think it'll be more hard to keep it zenki, you'll see with the pics tomorrow, this was moment of destiny forced on me to make my car look clean and get fresh paint. Im almost certain the zenki is out. I want a newer look... or, if I found a nice 240z I'm try and make it happen, I think that would be awesome.
