Sorry for the lame noob thread guys. I've done a little searching and have come up a little short. Also I'm just fishing out opinions..

Short story, I need rims, I'm settled on the Sportmax 962's (Let's not discuss weight, offset, or quality here)

17X9 +35 5x114.3

I will more than likely run 10mm spacers all around.

----

Now what I need help with, is pictures of black S14's with the 962's on. In either gold or gunmetal (the silver is not available in that size anymore wtf?)

If pictures aren't your thing, I'd appreciate your two cents on a black Zenki S14 with gold wheels, or gunmetal wheels. I'm just not sure the color scheme would workout so well.

Thanks guys. No more crap threads, I promise.

Thanks! I'm really liking that Gunmetal... right now my stock 5 spokes are painted (poorly) gunmetal, and I was afraid I'd get the same crappy look. The hyper silver however, darn I wish they made them my size.

Why doesn't anyone just run the 17X9 all around?

good question

dont listen to whatever reason they give

and color match the lips like the silver ones thar

and since youre buying spacers anyway you might as well get bigger than a 10mm

I have a very noob question...why run spacers? I also have been interested in the Sport Max 962 gunmetal for my white hatch. My car is a 92 and has a complete stock setup. Im thinking of 17s but, what offset should I use and why? Also I have plans to lower the car, but I would like to do so after I see how much wheel gap I have. Plz dont flame if this was suposed to go somewhere else. This website is huge and I just need an answer plz. TY very much in advance.

+35 is the lowest offset they offer for the 17x9 962's (afaik...). It's all good though since you get a wide wheel with a 3 inch lip. Most ppl just use small spacers with these in the front in order to clear their suspension. Go too big on the spacers and the wheels start to poke out and need a pull if you're real low.

Man, I wish they offered these in Hyper Silver! Oh well. There's always the doubly expensive p45r's.... *sigh*

No problem. I dig that Bings lip in your sig, too. It's actually making me reconsider getting a Xenon...

I am looking into getting the sportmaxx 962's for my s14 and was wondering what size wheels would be the best for front and rear if I want these wheels to sit flush? Right now I have the Evo 8 wheels on my car and with a +38 offset they are quite sunken in the rear...

17X9+35 all around, homie. It's the best size for this particular wheel. Staggered wheels are pointless IMO. You may need, like, a 5mm spacer to clear your front suspension possibly. If so, may as well throw one on in the back too...

I think Smocan had to do a roll and a pull on his piggy when he ran these sizes. Not sure about the s14...

How are 17x9.5 962's on a s14? Will they fit?

im pretty sure you'll need a 10mm spacer up front to clear suspension. then get 10mm or more out back to match.

Depending on your suspension setup, you'll need up to a 15mm spacer to really safely clear the front suspension. 17x9 +22 is a good benchmark I hear all the time for what will always clear front suspension.
