My daily driver - Nissan Pulsar N15 1998. LOVES a good thrasing and comes alive at 5000rpm. Cheap on fuel and big on fun - perfect everyday runabout car.

Mods include (deep breath.. here goes...) genie extractors, 2" exhaust with punched cat, cold air intake, shotgun leads with 'hotter' plugs, advanced timing to 15 degrees, Short shift (hacksaw job - heh heh), new clutch, machined 17" yakuza rims, 20-dark window tint all round, alarm with imobilizer wired to master central locking, custom meshed grill and meshed front bar, custom concealed fog lights, pod filter, slick50 teflon engine treatment, skinny number plate mod (front and rear), Xenon blue rice headlights, white/blue LED parkers, clear side indicators, LED tail lights, LED number plate lights, 2 x Sony 222w amps, 10" JL sub in boot, 2 x Jaycar kevlar coaxial splits in rear parcel shelf, 2 x sony Xplod splits in front doors, Kenwood MP3/WMA CD player, LED interior light, Aluminium pedals, Footwell Blue LED's. Debadged nissan badges replaced with nismo badges, sidedoor bump strips removed, mud flaps removed, lowered on pedders ultra-low springs, pedders gas sport shocks (front), stealth JDM side skirts... and probably more that I can't remember.

Future mods are race seats, underbody LED's (front, rear and sides)... anything else I can rice it up with :P

Hell, I don't think it looks ricey at all, sans maybe the pedals. Other than that, looks like an uuber clean 98. I dig it dude.

How bout some shots of the engine bay? Or is it too riced out up there?

Sure thing - heres a few shots of the interior, boot and engine bay. Nothing too exciting going on in the engine bay as yet - did have thoughts of putting a super charger on it tho. Boot is a little ugly with sub and amps but no one sees that

oh and ignore the blood stains in the boot. Nothing to see there... move along...

yeah stock 1.6L - goes really well for what is it but I'd love to have a SR20VE in there....

they're really hard to find here in AUS tho

im looking into turbo-ing or supercharging it - depends on how long this engine goes for tho. got about 180,000 kms on it

It looks like a 4dr 200sx... I'm not trashing the car. I'm just wondering why manufacturers don't keep the same name for the car all across the board when it's sold elswhere in the country and the world. It sorta' gets confusing with so many labels that one particular model gets. Again, it does look like a 4dr 200sx. Cool little beater car, though.

looks good m8 - i like the wheels. Very clean.

if i had the spare cash, i'd sell my rims and go for some graphite or black ones and do the mesh in a dark graphite too. That way my car would be invisible at night with the lights off

hey Big Jake,

I got the pedals from super cheap (bout $30-ish) and I used the bolts that came with the pedals to attach to the brake and clutch - but couldnt get them to work for the accel pedal so I just used two of the thickest cable ties I could find in my garage and threaded it through the back and around the back of the accel pedal etc. I put those pedals on at least 6 months ago and haven't had any of them budge at all - and i don't exactly treat the pedals nice if you know what I mean...

yeah i agree, the car does look good and tastefully done for the most part. the meshy grill has got to be toned down def, and that car looks really similar to the infiniti G20... the SR20VE surely wouldnt dissaopoint but hell why not throw a VQ35DE in there...then it would REALLY be a BADASS ride!!

Hey i have another question. I recently just bought a pod filter but i need the kit to put it on. Where did you get your kit?

hey m8,

i got all the bits for the pod from super cheap auto - cant remember the size but they had the right little adapter plate thingy that worked sweet.

just red-doing my tail lights now... i smoked them before with 'nite shades' then sprayed with clear but the clear has gone all crappy and yellow-ish after about 6 months. gonna just go nite shades (no clear this time) and then sand with 1200, 1500 then 2000 grit and buff it. wish i knew how to do it right the first time round!

should have it all sorted by the weekend i reckon.

yeah, i reckon a good 5kw power increase. the pulsar 1.6 air box and tubing is about 1inch wide and is massively constrictive. The pod takes it to 3 - 4 inches so stacks more air flow which = more power. im doing a cold air intake next - ive found that the car pulls heaps more on a cold morning than in warm weather so a CAI should help too.

just re-tinted my tailights today too - i'll up some pix.

i decided to sand off my tinted tail lights and do them again cos i wasnt happy with them. Last time I used nite shades tint and then a few coats of clear to get the gloss but the clear started to oxidize after about 6 months and looked all pitted and crappy. So off i went to the hardware store to buy some wet & dry sand paper (800, 1200, 1500 & 2000 grit) and sanded the lights back to the original nissan grandpa spec.

this time i used nite shades in nice even light coats, let it dry overnight then wet sanded it with 2000 grit paper then buffed with turtle wax polish and an oribital buffer. Came out stacks better this time.

Clean cars look good to almost everyone. That car looks clean. If you do too much more, it's going to look ricey.

theres this black glue stuff underneath that you can get off by just rubbing the hell out if it with your fingers and itll peel off.
