Hey guys,
I've been looking around for a while at this forum as the thought of a high reving DOHC engine is very appealing to me. In the past, I’ve had my share of Nissans – from Pathfinders to 240SX to 350Z). I have always liked the lines of the 300ZX and I think the VH45 is just the right engine for it. However, I've been looking around for a decent one; and for me, it must be a hardtop as I track my cars consistently and t-tops are a problem. I can’t seem to find anything worthwhile for under $8-10K.This takes me to the title of the post. I quite like the Mitsubishi Starion – certainly a very muscular-looking car, but plagued with a truck motor (it reminds a bit of my 89 240SX). It is a very capable car and even has some good motorsports pedigree; they’re not too heavy at all for modern standards and decent examples can be had for around $2K. They seem to be a good candidate for a VH45DE and the chassis should handle the torque just fine. I’m not looking for Forced Induction – Naturally Aspirated engines are what I like and find most usable for track outings (road course).
So, the question is, has anyone know of anyone attempting such conversion? I have seen a Starion with a 1UZFE Toyota 4.0, but nothing with a Nissan engine.
Thank you for any and all help!Cheers,Marco
