I have an 07 maxima se with 12600 miles and was leased last July from the dealer. Yesterday I went to the dealer to have a noise checked and was told that both my shocks are broken. The charge is $580 to fix at the dealer so I went to my fathers job because I new I could get a better deal. when his boss call nissan parts to get a price on parts he was told that the shocks should be under warranty....is anyone familiar with this warranty or know if it exists?

That should be covered under the base warranty. I would call the dealership and ask them why they want to charge you.

Warranty without a doubt. Its actually a somewhat common problem. We do front struts on a lot of Maximas under warranty at the dealership.

my car isn't a Nissan, but I had my rear struts replaced under warranty.

Thanks for you input . Is there anyway I can find some type of documentation to bring with me Tuesday when I go back to the dealership? I would like to be able to have something solid when I challenge them.

Dont be confrontational!

All you need to do is let them know it's under warranty.

If they dispute this it is on them to bare the burden of proof that it is not under warranty.

Dont go in there hotheaded. That will get you no where.

If they still refuse have them call Nissan American corporate office while you're there. Or better yet, have the number with you and call yourself to report the dealer
