Infiniti EX35 Cargo Organizer (with Pics)

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Yes you are, but looks awsome and practical. Good choice kuddos. Can it take some load being in the folded position ? Post more pics all around if you can. Thx

My experience so far is nil since I only just got it last night. But, I don't think that a heavy load when folded would be a problem, based on the way it folds combined with the density and flexibility of the plastic. For example, I would be comfortable lying my guitar amp (over 100 lbs) right on top of it.

BTW, I came across a vendor reference saying you require the cargo mat - this is NOT true. If you don't have the mat, you need to order an extra set of brackets (sticker says: "KITNI020 EX35 Organizer Hardware Kit LBN088"). These brackets just clip onto the edge of the spare-tire cover, so you can freely adjust the position of the organizer, forwards and backwards. Because, mine actually came with 2 sets of brackets, I can use it with or without the cargo mat in place (though it does take a minute or two to reconfigure it).

With the cargo mat, you don't have a choice of position if you use the pre-made holes to attach to the bracket, though I suppose one could always cut other holes.

Are any of the online Infiniti parts places selling the organizer at a discount? I haven't found a site that even shows/offers the organizer.

I haven't seen pictures of the EX organizer anywhere else on the Internet. When I asked the vendor for more info and pics, they said "we'll post some soon, hopefully", so read whatever meaning you want into that!

I took a chance and ordered it sight unseen, even paying astronomical shipping, plus brokerage and full taxes to get it into Canada ... but I don't regret it.

FYI, for all you Canucks, it cost me $283.44 total, for both the cargo mat and the organizer, landed in Ottawa (all shipping, taxes, fees, exchange, etc, included). Given that the absolute bottom price I was going to pay locally, was $146.90 (tax-in) just for the cargo mat, I'm satisfied.

Here's where I got it:http://www.infinitipartspeople...=EX35(No, I'm not getting any commission on sales ... though perhaps I should!!)

The organizer looks pretty cool!!! I'm going to talk to my dealership salesperson about what kind of discount he can get me on the mat and organizer.

I just got my Cargo Mat in the Mail a few days ago. I paid $25.00 for it, off eBay... and $20 for shipping.

My Wife and I have been to the Grocery Store a few times now with our new Car... and I think this folding organizer would be useless for us and in the way of a nice flat Cargo area.

All it takes is a Tray or 2 of Pop and Beer and several Bags of Groceries and you wouldn't be able to use it, because it's not big enough anymore.

They are selling Pop here in flats of 30 Cans now. Where would you put this Flat ? Stand it on edge, maybe, next to the Back Seat... so that you can still use the organzier ?

We just throw our Groceries against the Back Seat... and lo and behold, they are still there, when we get home.

I suppose one could fold down the Seats for more Space... but then that would mean for sure, that this thing is too small. For us, the Big objects go down first and the other stuff gets piled on top.

Sometimes, on a Hot day, we bring along a Cooler and Ice-Paks to keep our Meat cold while we run errands. Again, this thing would be kept flat in our Car.

I remember seeing this sort of thing in the Nissan Murano and thinking it woulld be pretty cool to have... and thought... why doesn't an upper scale Infiniti have it ?

Maybe take your Camera with you, next time you go Grocery Shopping and let us see how practical it is. For us, a trip to Costco would render this thing useless because of all the weird shaped items one picks up from there.

If I saw this thing on eBay for dirt cheap, I would buy one... but I'm not going to rush out and pay full cost for something that would probably remain flat in our Car.

Sorry...

Hehe ... well to each their own, as the saying goes!

I don't claim to speak for anyone else, but in my analysis, this cargo organizer is absolutely NOT for those times when you have a lot of stuff, but rather the opposite. When you have very little, you don't want it to move around while the vehicle is in motion:a) annoying/distracting you,b) hitting something/someone causing damage/injury, orc) possibly being damaged itself (spillage, breakage, etc).

Now that I've had it a while, I can honestly report that it functions EXACTLY as I intended. It's absolutely great for the small stuff or anything I want to keep stationary/upright, and when it's folded flat, it occupies virtually no space. In fact, the small ridge it creates when folded, helps to minimize movement back there during larger shopping trips.

Spending less than $140 for this organizer (over what I would have paid for just the grey cargo mat), to keep my $50K plus car cleaner and enhance its safety and utility ... hey, the math works for me!

But, as another saying goes ... your mileage may vary!

I installed mine. Does it only fasten in the two cutout locations? They included 4 brackets but I can only see spots for two of them.

also, I noticed in the above pictures that you don't have the privacy cover? Did you take it out or did it not come with the car?

Yes, if you install with the cargo mat, only 2 of the 4 are needed at the cutout locations. If, however, you install it without the cargo mat, you can install in a different position (closer to the back seat), in which case, all 4 brackets would be used.

I have the cargo cover - I just removed it at the time of the pics.

I got the dealer to include it in the deal. Almost passed on it. Glad I didn't. I use it quite often and I love it. I can fit quite a nice amount of groceries in it. I've placed several heavy Ikea boxes on it. No problem.

That looks a lot like the organizer that is a standard feature and built into the floor of the cargo area in my '09 Murano!

No picture, but you can easily fit a filled paper bag of groceries in each of the compartments. I never use the thing, but my wife says it's the coolest thing ever, she can fly around corners and not have to worry about having the groceries everywhere.

it doesn't matter how far they go, if something falls over and gets broken or squished thats all that matters. The cargo organizer goes a long ways towards preventing that. I guess if you always are packing the back completely full in preparation for the coming apocolypse then no the organizer won't do you any good since everything is snug and secure.

Both looks awesome. It is fantastic idea to have it if you go groceries shoping weekly.

Dave I see you had it for 5 months now. How is this thing holding up? Any problems with it?

No problem at all ... absolutely awesome!! It stands up to all the heavy band equipment I care to put on it without any ill effects.

It doesn't deploy as quickly/easily as the built-in one in both the Rogue and Murano, but I'm quite happy overall.

What do you think, inteller ... anything to add?

Cheers,David

I agree with deployment....because usually I have something in one hand and I'm trying to fiddle with the others. But it is really sturdy and I usually leave it deployed for long periods of time. the fact that it only comprises a portion of the mack means you still have room to store objects that are longer and wont fit in it.

I've had the organizer for some time now. Has its pluses and minuses as you all mention. One thing that I noted was that if you dno't have the cargo protector you can get more "usable" space in the back if you move the organizer as far forward as you can (toward the rear seat) otherwise, if you leave it toward the door and it is ope, you don't have much room behind it while open.

Just my 2 cents...

I just received the organizer from Infiniti Parts USA. The holes in my cargo mat don't line up with the brackets just right. If one hole is over one braceket, then the other hole is just about 1/2 a centimeter or too far left or right for the other bracket. It just won't lay flat. This seems like it would have to be a problem with the mat (which came with the car) rather than with the brackets. It seems unlikely that the dealership will replace the mat, though. Any ideas?

Also, some of you mention that your organizers came with an extra pair of brackets for use without the mat. Mine did not -- did anyone who ordered from Infiniti Parts USA get the extra brackets?

Thanks ...

Is there any chance you have the bracket oriented incorrectly? Can you post a pic clearly showing the bracket and the mat?

Where I bought mine (Infinitipartspeople.com) is the same company as InfinitiPartsUSA.com ... I know this because the packaging that came with mine said the latter along with a notice saying "Thanks for your business."

I got the extra set of brackets. If you didn't, it's possible they stopped doing that, or you might call and request they send them to you.
