What brake pads do you have? Sometimes track or street pads squeal untill they are warmed up. My WRX's breaks did this when I installed auto-x pads.

Yeah...It mostly happens to me the day after I wash it. It will only last for a few (3-5) times of braking, then it returns to normal. Don't know if maybe it's because of car wash residue or hard water deposits on the rotor/pads, or just because they are "squeaky clean" and need to build up some brake residue. Oh, by the way I have just over 15,000 miles on mine, so don't know if it's the brakes or just an "after wash" issue for me.

I have a 07 with brembos, I had excessive squealing with a few hundred miles on it. Took to the dealer, and was replaced, but nothing has changed. The noise is gone after dust is removed during a wash, but will always come back. i have 5000 miles on it. Dealer said I would have to go to a different compound to reduce the noise, but might have to lose some of the braking ability. Noise increases as it gets hotter. This is a fairly common problem. I will accept the noise in favor of incredible braking.

My wife has the '07 with a lil over 6k miles on it and there doesn't seem to be any problem with braking noise. I'm pretty sure there shouldn't be a problem after washing the car, we have really hard water with a bunch of junk in it and nothing is wrong with it brake wise after a wash.

i dont think washing it has anything to do with it.When i wash the Z,it still squels...When i dont wash the Z it still makes the noise..Its not loud and it doesnt do it everytime i brake..It squels like 50% of the time i brake.Sometimes it does and sometimes it dont...
