the site i found most of my information is down (redz31.com). correct me if i'm wrong, but the stock pistons can hold more boost than stock settings?thanks
Yup, just keep the fuel tuning strong and they will hold quite a bit of power. The owner of that site, Jason, is making I believe around 450 to 500 hp on stock internals and daily drives it... even drove it from Michigan to Branson, MO for Branson Z Fest just last week.

Jason is no longer running the factory pistons... He changed them out (I beleive last year) for different pistons... He was however daily driving on them for years while putting down 450~ish whp, and some spray.
Jason and I caravanned down to Branson Mo, had a blast and drove home. He even managed to average 30mpg. Not too shabby for 450whp, if I may say so!
You may know Me as the guy who swapped a rb25det into his Z31.
my stock Z31 bottom end make 315 whp and 416 lbft at the wheel, at 25 psi from a franken turbo, so yeah the pistons will take more than stock
