  Getting creative with nitrous lines!

Running the nitrous line for my dry shot on injen CAI.

First off, i bought the ZEX filter with nozzle built in, and it came with 6' extra hose (for CAI application). Got it for like $51.12 after shipping, at an ebay store. One thing i didn't realize was that the filter will not fit the injen CAI piping!... So i had to do some fab work to make things work. I stole the nozzle off of the ZEX filter and drilled a place for it dead center on the injen filter (dead center is 2.5 inches on perpendicular lines from the outside edge). That worked out good, so i placed the filter back on and we're good there.

Next I ran the line along underneath the CAI duct work (hiding it). Then poked it through a pre-existing hole from a amplifier power line (from previous owner), into the master & slave cylinder compartment, where i hope to store the brain of the ZEX nitrous kit (to hide it). I did not like that you could still see the steel braided line from the front of the car where it goes into the filter, and from where the line branches from underneath the CAI. So i figured, "i do have some of that plastic wire covering". I am sure you are all familiar with it, usually used to hide and protect your positive line running from your battery to your amplifier. So i got back underneath the front to do some final tucking and went ahead and used the covering on the part of the line you could see from the front of the car. Did completely hide the line but you can see there is something running to the filter, but you cannot see it well enough to notice unless you shine a light directly on it. Next the line that branches was still partially visible where the line enters the firewall, and i fought with it for like 15 minutes trying to hid it and it just wouldn't work, thats when i had a brilliant idea..... I have some blue tubing that is the exact color of the blue 4 gauge wire that i have. So i got out the razor knife and went to town - tucked it around the braided line and into the tubing as well as through the firewall....... (pics)vvvv

Hey rmezz13 i have a few questions because i was thinking about getting a set up similar to yours, how long did the whole instal take you from start to finish? I was also wondering what shot your running and if you have used it yet on the road or track?

Haven't installed it all yet. What i did so far took 2 hours because i was playing with hiding it and all that so i pulled the line out about 5 times and scratched my head a lot, but i had nothing better to do that day. I would say running that line plus rigging the filter with the nozzle should take about 20-30 minutes after you get the car jacked up, and pull off the plastic underneath - the easiest way to get to the filter for the injen CAI. It shouldn't take you any longer than installing an amplifier. You run the lines the same as you would a positive wire for an amp.

Its a 55 shot and from what i have heard should bump the car (if stock) up to about 340bhp..... We will see what its like though and i'll let you all know. I expect to maybe get 20-25 whp, but thats because i don't like to say its going to be higher than it is, thats bit me in the a$$ in the past. Then again i have no idea what to expect........

I will post more pics in this thread during the install. Just give me a little time.
