Yup, you might be able to go a little wider but I probably wouldn't.

You run this on stock rims? The reason why I'm asking is because I plan to have the tires a little bit bigger in the back whenever I decide to dorifto. (which comes every once in a while; not a daily habit.) I just wanna get some ideas before I get new tires.

lol I don't necessarily want a taller tire. I'm just looking for something that's better than the 195/60/15s I have now.

I'm running on 225/50/15 on stock SE weels. you get a wider patch. there's no suspension rubbing issue as well. they look good too with it.

I've got 195/60/15 up front and 215/50/15 in the rear... I'll be getting new tires all around very soon but since i just dropped my car on coils, I'm not sure what would fit well and look good with my ride height set at what it is....btw i want to run either 205/60 all around or 195/60 fronts and 225/50 rears.. I'll post some current pics soon

Rule of thumb is that you can mount a tire thats ~2" wider than the rim. Anything wider probably rides like poo

Now there are some positives and negatives to having 215 or 225/50 in the rear from my experiencePositives: wider contact patch - therefore -better rear end traction looks better if u like a wider than stock tire also looks good from certain angles shorter sidewall, but more sidewall flex could be a possibility(although i get less flex on my 215's than my tall azz 195 60's)- it depends on sidewall of specific tire Negatives: speedometer shows a little faster looks ugly to me from side view b/c doesnt fill up fender gap ontop and on sides...(see first pic)- and they balloon less sidewall cushion (not a big deal) may get some understeer here are my pics

Quote: A Yokohama quick tip—use a rim width which is 90% as wide as the tread width of a performance tire for street driving. This will provide a good balance between performance and ride quality. http://www.yokohamatire.com/cu....aspx For example: a 195/60/15 ES100 has a tread width of 6.8" and a measuring rim width of 6" which is 88% of 6.8".
Nissan new what they were doing when they equiped the OEM wheels with that tire size. Just put some sticky rubber on there and you'll be golden.
