Can you recommend a shop/mechanic to rebuild a vg30dett in SoCal?

Looking to rebuild this engine and possibly do a manual transmission swap. Anyone know of someone in So California? SHould this cost more than $5800 to do (for both the rebuild and the swap)? That's the lowest price I've got so far, from someone reputable who has a shop- but it still seams steep (then again, I dunno much about the mechanics side of it and it's probably a labor intensive thing so..)Thanks for any input

depends on how extensive the rebuild is, but unless you're willing to do the labor yourself then 5800 sounds about ballpark if it includes transmission swap, transmission/pedal assembly/hydraulic system/driveshaft and a proper rebuild kit.

Thanks for the info. . Just a stock rebuild as I'd be happy with a fully functional stage 2

These guys did the rebuild of my TT before I bought it from another guy. Seems like a good build except the owner cheaped out on the turbos and wire harness, so now I am in the process of replacing those. The motor itself was strong without boost.
