Can you recommend a shop/mechanic to rebuild a vg30dett in SoCal?

Looking to rebuild this engine and possibly do a manual transmission swap. Anyone know of someone in So California? SHould this cost more than $5800 to do (for both the rebuild and the swap)? That's the lowest price I've got so far, from someone reputable who has a shop- but it still seams steep (then again, I dunno much about the mechanics side of it and it's probably a labor intensive thing so..)Thanks for any input :D

depends on how extensive the rebuild is, but unless you're willing to do the labor yourself then 5800 sounds about ballpark if it includes transmission swap, transmission/pedal assembly/hydraulic system/driveshaft and a proper rebuild kit.

Thanks for the info. . Just a stock rebuild as I'd be happy with a fully functional stage 2 :D

These guys did the rebuild of my TT before I bought it from another guy. Seems like a good build except the owner cheaped out on the turbos and wire harness, so now I am in the process of replacing those. The motor itself was strong without boost.
