Luckily there are plenty of 2wd Nissan Pathfinders and Patrols with a similiar automatic transmission sold in Brazil.

This transmission is also known as JR403A or RE4R03A.

Greetings Milton. Welcome to NICO. You've got to give yourself and your Q a proper introduction. Since you're the first member from South America that I recall I'm curious how a Q45 ended up all the way down in Rio De Janiero. Are you the only Q in the city or are they a common sight on the streets of Rio? Where do you get parts? Is the Nissan dealership helpful? Inquiring minds want to know.

Thank you guys,

First, sorry for my poor english

Let me introduce myself

My name is Milton Flavio do Couto, i´m 31 and I live in the most beautiful city in the world (Rio de Janeiro). My Q is 1991 model, amethyst green with sand interior, Active Suspension, Non Hicas, Non TCS, and today, it reach 37.000 mls. Like I said im my signature, my Q is one of only four in Brazil: two 91, one 93 and one 2005. There are a few FX and G around, but Q, J and other models are ultra-rare. In Brazil, luxury car is synonym to german car... Nissan has a factory here, but they only make Sentras, Tiidas, Frontiers and Xterras, and import from US Pathfinders, Muranos and Zs...

Best regards from Brazil

...my Q was imported new to be tested (and cover the 10/91 edition) by our most important car magazine (4 Rodas) and after the test, was sold to a very rich businessman called Kazinsky, that kept the car until 2006, when I bought it with only 29.000 miles. With 35.000 mls due to overheating problems (our coldest days about 68ºF, and hottest are near 113ºF) , the transmission went out, and was rebuilded and upgraded with IPT parts. An extra ATF radiator (Long-tru 4588) was installed too. But after the rebuild service, the A/T self-diagnose indicate “A” code. The car still driving fine, but after tests we confirm that the TSS is dead.
