Dual Exhaust
2:11 PM 5/9/2008
Has anyone here gotten a dual exhaust done to there sentra? i have a 05 sentra 1.8s and i was wonderin if it could be done and how i should go about doin it. I know i need to talk to the local shop but does anyone have any suggestions of mufflers or other things that i would need heres the link http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3024501
Checked out the link. Interesting. Not big on the front facia, but he's done a lot of nice work on that Sentra. I like the dual exhaust. He obviously has a few bucks to spend. Which brings me to my point, and begs the question: Why spend that kind of cash on a 1.8? Wouldn't he have gotten a lot more bang for his buck if he had started out with a Spec V? Don't get upset with me folks, but it seems like a big waste of money to me.
I was not thinking about going to the extent of mods that he did but i want to do a few bolt ons like exhaust headers, wheels, just some basic bolt ons nothing too complex because i do agree with you it is better to get the spec-v but i dont really have a choice because im inherriting this car ( im only 16) and i have enough cash to do mods but not a lot of cash

That's the fun stuff when you're young. More power to you. Enjoy it. I'm somewhat older now (I have 2 grandkids), but my fondest memories were when I was your age and started fooling around with cars. I inherited my dad's car when he bought a new one, and I was constantly playing around with it. He didn't understand 'cause he wasn't that way, but I had fun. The first car I modified (slightly), was a British Vauxhall Velox (Bet not many people would remember that one). It was the size of a Chevy II, with a straight six and three on the tree. It needed a valve job, so I pulled the head, and had a shop clean it up, and also had it shaved by a few thou. This then gave me higher compression than before. I then mounted a bigger carb from a Chevy engine, and modified the linkage to make it fit. I also played with the ignition timing and stuff like that. The end result was a faster car that surprised a lot of people at traffic lights. I had no trouble beating small block Chevies or Fords. Unfortunately, it met an untimely death when I got rear-ended by a drunk. I loved that car. Enjoy your mods.
Im just the same way this is my moms car and now its mine yea my dad cant understand why im puttin mods on this car, he is a total nerd he works a desk job and never had any interest in cars he cant understand why i would spend this much money on a car rather than somethin useful which he thinks is college thanks for the advice
Dual exhausts can/have been done. Unfortunately, it's all custom. The car is designed to hang an exhaust on one side, so some sort of hanger system would have to be fabbed up. IMO it looks pretty ridiculous, especially since it's clearly a 4cyl car. The bumper also doesn't have a second cutout, so it would look off in that respect too.
