  Unreal Imports

Has anyone ever heard of unreal imports? they have some great prices on the R34, but they really don't have a lot of info if the cars are in the U.S. or not. Any help?

Two things about this website that I really think are kind of suspicious. Read on.

Question: What are your payment terms?

Answer: As soon as a we're given the acceptance by our buyer for a particular vehicle, we require payment immediately to secure it. Form of payment is bank to bank wire transfer.

Question: I am in the USA, do you arrange for compliance and legalization of the cars you sell?

Answer: YES we can get any car bought from us cleared thru US customs, registered and titled. We mean ANY car. Give us a call for all the extra costs involved

The first one I underlined is just asking for trouble. Any company that uses wire transfers is very suspicious. I would be very leary of this.

The second Q&A, about legalizing, should be not be taken at face value. With the current article on the homepage, you should know that is only one company that can completely legalize the Skyline.

Besides, the R34 is not eligible for importation, legally that is, into the U.S.

I would call them and ask them the following questions.

1. Who will do the legalizing and alterations of the ECU to make it compliant with the OBD II system.

2. Can I get the name of the account holder and the name of the bank for the wire transfer. (Use this as a way to verify the bank is legit, then try to find out how long the account has been open.)

3. How can you guarentee that if I buy the car, you will deliver the product in a timely manner and steal my money.

This seems pretty rediculous, but remember, if at any time you feel uncomfortable with any of the information they give you, turn tail and run, and protect your money.

Another thing, with the prices for some of the R34s on that website, you could damn near buy a new GT-R.

Always remember, if it's too good to be true, it probably is. And Buyer Beware.

They say they are in the states but the contact number is australia.

They list other "customers" contact phone numbers

The co-owners MySpace page I guess?

Nothing on the BBB site but that does not mean much. I would not put the money on the wood until I visited the shop itself. It's real easy to BS people with a cute website. +1 on the wire transfer,

TMS is right, to many red flags. I believe the TMS and I talked about this when I originally joined and proceeded to poke holes in other companies promises.

Take what he said at face value, I would honestly say he, greg, laurel, and other moderators, have done an outstanding job educating our community. Read the article that they took a great deal of time to write and take it as golden.
