Has anyone tried and had good results with any engine coatings?

I'm talking about the inner walls of the block, con rods, crank, cams and other parts that come in contact with oil, or are affected by friction. I know there's cryogenic processing, ceramic coatings and other methods, but they can be rather expensive. Are there such things as any good, less expensive alternatives that someone has tried and it worked well for them?

My last serious build used ceramics on pistons, chambers, valves and ports. Also low friction (teflon?) on all bearings.Noticed buggar all difference, definitely not the "at least 7%" I was quoted as normal. May have run a little cooler, but would have felt 7percent!!Not a waste of time, but if you have too much money...I dont rate it as I did when I read up about it in their leaflets. I havent tried the insides of block coating, as my particlular engine had no issue there with oil hangin around.
