Thanks for the offer. It'll be a while before I'm ready for paint. I was just admiring your car again. Who did the body prep work? Looks like it came out nice and straight.

my uncle actually did it in his garage, you wouldn't think you would get that quality in a backyard garage

i wouldn't mind getting rims and tires, or buying new tires and sandblasting those rims, either powder coat them or keep them just sandblasted

Great! A nice set of wheels certainly does make a world of difference to the appearance of a vehicle. Is there anyone in your area that does media blasting. It's a great way to clean up parts that have a lot of nooks and crannies. I think sand may be a little too abrasive for alluminum. They would come out looking like sand paper, depending on the size of the sand. I'm thinking walnut shells,or maybe corn husks, would give you a brighter and smoother finish. You can then finish them off with some alluminum polish. Eastwood Products, has the media blasting material that I have mentioned,in case your not familiar with this process. Also there are some good threads in the 240 forums about refinishing wheels. Some people are wet sanding them working thier way from 1000 grit to 2000,using soapy water to remove pit marks. Then polish.Very labor intensive, but the result is worth the effort if it's done right. Your wheels have too many corners for sanding. I think I would polish the lip,and powder coat, or paint the centers. Just my 2 cents. There is a lot to consider when doing a restoration project. I've included a link for wheel restoration.Good luck with that project. Let us know how it turns out. http://www.fixrim.com/?gclid=C...m4URQ
