BC Racing's Time Attack G35's first track experience

We just got back from St Louis MO. for the 2nd round of the Redline Time Attack. The freshly finished (a few days before the event) white BC Racing G35 coupe was trailered out from the Florida based BC Racing North America headquarters and made the journey all the way out to St Louis for its first ever track experience. I flew out from San Diego to drive it in the Time Attack and test it for the first time.

We arived mid-day friday at the track to a crazy 30mph winds and heavy rain downpour which scratched the planned Friday test session, only a couple practices left on Saturday before the event's timed session on Sunday.

The car looked great and performed quite well for being right out of the box. We did have some very scary installer related issues (oil fire) that kept us up untill 3-4 AM and also kept us from being able to do any real fine-tuneing, and we had an eventual brake issue that kept me from being able to even back up my practice time of Saturday with the car.

All in all we were able to limp the car home for a 2nd place in the modified RWD class and win the Unlimited RWD class. Just think how well the car could have done without the issues.....

I am looking forward to the progress of this car once we get the buggs worked out of it and the car gets its much needed upgrades.

Here is some pictures of the car from this weekend.........

racing is life.

I live my life a quarter mile at a time.

Just F'ing with you Slappy!

Is there a driver in the car other than the middle pic, or am I seeing things?

Good Luck on the season, and working the bugs out.
Time attack sounds like fun.

No I was out of the car during some of the photoshoot. We just set the car in spots on the track to take pictures...

How's that a low blow... am I missing something here ? LOL

Ahhh, I thought at first they where all action shots from the event. I didn't realize they were press shots.

I quoted Slappy, then edited in the Vin Diesels line from the farts and furryasses about the 1/4 mile. You have to know Slappy and his hatred of those movies to really appreciate the irony and smart assery of me doing that.

Also, What is the deal with the yellow lower lips and skirts in the still shots, but not on the car in the action shot?

Those action shots were taken Friday when it weas raining. We put the yellow tape on Saturday to make the car stand out a little more and also so I could visibly see what the car's attitude was in the turns in pictures and video (to make adjustments)

Here is some more pics......

Yes it works pretty well. It just highlights the edges of the cars body just so its more visable in video and in pictures as to what the car is doing (like body roll & pitch and dive)

There definately is a whole new crop of time attack'ers this year.
I heard that JIC has retired the (quarter million dollar) S15 from time attacks and AMS sold their EVO (guess the new owners will still time attack with it) and they are in the works of building another one for next year.

and yes, this is the same wheel and tire combination we run on our Z (for now)

PLEASE tell me there is a jack stand under the car that can't be seen.

On a related note, at the KC SCCA SOLOII Midwest Divisional last year, I watched a guy jack up his car on two jacks(one in the middle of the front on tht X member of the motor, and in the middle at the rear as well.), and then promptly drop the car onto the front drivers side rotor. Hilarity then insured.

Yes, there is a couple jackstands that are hard to see in that pic.
The car was jacked up with two jacks and two jackstands.
