  VQ35HR 8,000RPM/ ECU chip

Would it be possible to chip the ECU of the VQ35HR in my G to make the tranny shift at 8,000RPM? I know the manual trans. Gs all have fuel cuts at 7800, so I'd wager the engine could handle the extra few hundred revs. I just wonder if it would work or if the transmission could handle it. Any thoughts?

call up the guys at technosquare i'm sure they can take care of that for you

but then again the automatics have a transmission ecu so you can probabbly have that modified.

I think you're just dump. Why don't you get yourself a Kia.

Why would anyone want to shift at 8,000 rpm? Even the drag racing people wouldn't do that because the stock engine and transmission would be dead after a few shifts.

Do you know much about engines? The redline is set at a given point because it means that it is safe to shift at that point. This is why automatics shift at the indicated redline at WOT, because it is safe.

Now the companies also factor in about a 500RPM difference between what the tach says and what is actually safe. You can tell that because the limiter on the engines with manuals is higher than the indicated as well.

I don't think I should trade in my G for a Kia simply because I intend to use the high-rpm V6 for what it was intended to be used for.
