Almost there, one more hole to cover up and then some finish work. About 20 hours into this project so far. No easy task.

Here's my teaser pic like T45's:

And, yes, the flange did warp some (it was bolted to a steel table, but i think the surface was a bit uneven). I think the resolution and perspective of these pics exaggerates it a bit. Still gonna try to do some straightening before installing.

Here are the remains of the Z32 pan. We cut it so that the depth of the sump would be equivalent to the stock depth of the Q45 sump. Then just stitched everything together, haha.

Excellent pics! This is exactly what I've needed to see.

Dont worry. even if its bolted flat everything still twists and warps when you add the hotstuff. Happened to mine. A bit of a tweak soon fixes the worst of it and gets things close. Then the sump bolts do the rest:)

Looks awesome! Almost identical in size and shape to mine but I like the way you cut and arranged yours better.

Don't forget to put in a check bolt up near the top so you can check the oil level because the dipstick is useless now.

Yeah T45, I was pondering the best way to go about that. I'd like to weld a bung in for the dipstick tube, if at all possible. That way the oil could be checked easily on flat surfaces.

The next big question is, how do I figure out the capacity?

Good question. lol I just put my check bolt hole basically in line with the bottom of the front of the pan. IIRC the stock dipstick makes the oil level about 1-1.5" below the bottom of the block so I figured that as long as the sump is completely full it should be good and then I added an extra quart to get the galleys filled up upon initial startup. I'll probably just add 1/2 qt to be safe for normal oil changes.

To check capacity, when doing a leak test on the pan- use an old oil quart container, and see how many times you have to fill it, to get the oil level an inch or so below the flange. Looks like it wont hold alot, but am curious.

Can you give me some insight into some dimensions please? depth of sump front to back, and height from flange mounting to clear rack, and also to clear xmember. Thanx alot, n great work

My goal is at least 5, and a cooling system to add capacity and help cool it.

Accusump FTW. I think Moroso has their own version now too, might be a slightly cheaper alternative.

If I were to go with a preoiler, I would just go drysump all the way. I can get an extra few quarts in the oil cooling system, and am trying to make the pan as large as i can to hold more than stock did. Been working on a few customer toys and havent had time to play with mine for a few weeks. I am hanging the engine in place this weekend to start fabbing, and gettting dimensions.

To be honest, I'm flying blind and hoping it works. No dimensions for me. That's what a BFH is for!

Im hanging my engine in place the next few days to get some measurements. Then send off trans to mazworx, and get a couple pans and mounts made up.
