I am in the middle of replacing my E-Brake cables, but I can't get the old ones off. The cylinder thing that is supposed to rotate and let the cable come apart from the spot where both rear meet up and connect to the single cable coming from the E-brake handle. I can not get them to budge. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get these out of there?

Thanks!

There is an opening on both sides of the T-bracket, one for each cable. You have to turn the cable 45 degrees and then remove it from the T-bracket.T-bracket...turn and remove.

I turned it and then used a screwdriver to pop the metal cylinder out from the bottom.

^ positronone's way is best - that's what I did, but I "massaged" my bracket by bending it a lil (and possibly screwing it up) when i got frustrated that the cylinder wouldn't pop out.

If you already removed the line from the caliper side & got the bolts holding the line to the chassis out, you can go through the interior: remove center console, remove the 2 bolts holding the ebrake line from inside/outside the car, and pull it up from there - this gives you a much better angle to work from.

Thanks for the reply and great pics of everything. Except my problem is that I can't rotate the cable 45 degrees to slip it out. So I now just decided to order a new assembly and replace it and start fresh.

You could just go through the center console like brokeAs240sx said and pull the bracket out with the lines still attached and just remove them outside the car.
