The DE engine will most likely not gain too much from the mods; meaning not too much HP and torque gains, but I imagine that it will behave much better and give consistent fuel/air mixtures throughout the powerband. The ECM in the Z's will NOT know your mods, so to unlock the money, time, and advantages of the mods I would suggest that you proceed with the ECM reflash.gmoney350Z wrote:I got:-Aem cold air intake-Nismo exhaust with 3' piping with shock Y-pipe-dc headers-kinetix manifold planum-motordyne MREV2 manifold
And that's my 06 350Z
I'm interested in seeing your gains with intakes only.rmezz13 wrote:i want to know your gains. i'll check back later/ tomorrow. thanks
I am going to both.gmoney350Z wrote:I see what your saying well by the end of this month I should have the results and post them up...I may go to both with the shop I go to...are you going?
It would be hard to answer that... I would guess you are losing HP and TORQUE right now because the ECM does not know about the parts... so you might get a big jump after the reflash or not... so hard to tell... maybe the results will yield 20 - 40+ RWHP.gmoney350Z wrote:Man bro I can't wait til I get my ecu reflash...what you think I can get with the mods I have?
$600 with the before and after dyno. The reflash was more than just increasing the HP and Torque. I wanted the governor and throttle settings changed as well.rmezz13 wrote:How much did you pay for +12hp and +14 torque ??
I was checking those out as well. most of those systems are pretty in depth. using it with a few dyno runs seems neccessary to keep everything in sync. i would love to have different maps saved for economy and sportrmezz13 wrote:Thats pretty good, i'm looking into the Cobb AccessPORT for mine, looks like its running about $700 if the G35 guys don't get back to me about the group buy. You can change it all your self its a plug and play so you can reflash from the inside of the car, there is on the fly mode changing, and you can adjust your idle, and timing as well. Many things you can do and its not uncommon to get 17+ whp.

I would normally agree with you, but the ECM reflash, for me, actually increases my MPG a little as long as you are light on the throttle. I big question I have is that could a separate set of maps actually "choke" the engine for a true eco mode. Adding 2-5 MPGs would be nice when I am stuck in traffic and cannot "drive" the car.Anthonysflying wrote:
