I have KTS coilovers and spl tension rods and rucas. Really abused them. Went through two sets of pads and two front tires in 2 months and they still feel like new. One of the front coilovers adjustment knobs froze up. I had to buy a replacement strut. 140 bucks. Not bad. smooth ride at setting 1 and race car feel at 15. I will always buy kts

that is a real good feature of the kts coilover actually. instead of paying 600 bucks to have them rebuilt like tein, you can just buy a whold new damper to put in it.

K-sports are the same way (but inferior quality...), very convenient when it comes to just replacing a strut instead of sending the unit to Japan for a costly overhaul. I have heard nothing but good reviews from the KTS coils....

I've heard some serious complaints about KTS, there was a thread a while back with dyno graphs of there coils that showed how they were seriously mismatched from the factory. I have never used them. SPL parts are the dope sauce... seriously beefy and well engineered.

+1 for SPL parts!I've only got the kts coilovers and rucas installed, but I've purchased the tension rods, outer tie rods/ends, and rear toe rods. Next I'll buy the traction rods and solid rear subframe bushings... No complaints about the ride and performance of the coilovers, but I would put something on the threads of the strut body to keep them from rusting.

Ive had mine on for a couple years now, and I dont have any rust. Just sometimes I notice that there is a build up of tiny pebbles that wont allow the strut to rotate.

Well, let me explain then....My dumbass decided to install and drive on my coilovers during the winter season... So of course, it snows and snows and ices over less than two weeks after the install....AND I DRIVE THROUGH IT ANYWAY. So, now I guess I've cursed myself to be the only reported person to have rusty threads on my kts coilovers. Which occured from all the slush that got thrown onto the threads from driving around in the icey snow. ...iono, maybe I'll look again and find that some brake cleaner and a rag will wipe the rusty stuff right off...hope so.

Had inner tie rods/rod ends, tension rods, and toe rods installed today from spl. Car feels alot tighter and responsive now. Also turned out to have very very little rust on the threads on one corner only, the rest were spotless. End result, SPL=QUALITY

Does anyone have the shock dyno report? Will they provide a shock dyno report when purchasing their coilovers? Im about to buy some coilovers and want the best bang for the buck! These seem to be the way to go. Im sold especially if I can find a shock dyno report!

Great thread! I've been considering the KTS' versus Megan, PBM and Stance. Anybody know what the drop is? I didn't see it on the SPL site. Got pics on s13?Oh! And are they forked to allow z32 upright installation?

You can buy the forks seperately or I'm pretty sure you can order coils with them installed so you don't pay extra. Here's my car on KTS coilovers...still lots of thread left to lower if I wanted....aaand I definately need to lower the front end more...

While trying to find a dyno graph of the KTS's I found this on another forum.| Quote » | i guess it was the RAs. there was an explanation of the shock dyno somewhere, but it never made sense to me. some people apparently understood it and said the kts were better.it was stated by one of the spl guys that on paper the kts were better than the HEs because of inverted monotube and whatever. the review in this link is a person who switched from he to spl/kts: http://www.********.com/zerothread?id=73810 and http://www.Aivliz.net/f/showthread.php?t=58046(don't know if you need to be signed in for zilvia). worth noting that the spl/kts don't (didn't?) have a bracket for the front brake line and that front wheel clearance is very good, you can run usdm tite 17x7 +40 without rubbing. spl/kts coilovers are the new fn01rc, i know a bunch of people with them, i wouldn't buy them cause the spring rates are too weak (same as i got now). the price keeps changing cause of exchange rates, though. |
If you replace : http://www.********.com/zerothread?id=73810 With: http://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread?id=73810 It goes from:

To a NICO thread identical to the Aivliz thread I guess Some one doesn't mind that other Nissan forum, but they don't care for NICO very much. Sorry for the thread jack, I couldn't help myself. And No I couldn't find the dyno plot.

I have SPL Tension rods and their teflon coated SS brake lines. They do their job and were priced right. Only tiny issue is that some of the chrome flaked off.(old pic)

The "chrome" is actually zinc plate. And if it does ever wear off, you can easily spray some cold galvanize to cover where it flaked. Cold galvanize spray can be found at any industrial supply store for sure, maybe at hardware stores? I've got tons of it at my job so I never had to worry about it.
