If you bought it from a Nissan dealer you may want to ask them if Nissan will perform a 'Good Will' repair. They do these on a case by case basis.The cd player on my wife's '04 Sentra crapped out after 3 1/2 years, and Nissan kindly replaced it even though it was out of warranty.
I'm not sure if they would give a used purchase the same consideration, but it doesn't cost you anything to ask.
