I hafta own the most stubborn J30

Wont start..............cranks n cranks.backed out one mornin (she was warm) stalled and that was it.Now im not a mechanic, but i can figure stuff out and it has me beat. Ive browsed these forums for hours to find answers to no avail so im gonna ask.Put 6 new coil packs, new cam sensor, plugs, ignition coil relay, ecu, and the lil flat black control module right behind the passenger bank of cylinders. Dont know what the proper name is.same problem........changed fuel pressure reg and fuel damper off my parts car and after some fiddlin with the fuel pump and injector fuse, it fired and ran for a week. After workin on it for months i was happy.

A week later its doin it again, so i replace the reg and damper with new ones from nissan, cuz noone else seems to know what these two parts are.Same problem.............funny thing is if you pull the fuel pump and fuel injector fuse the car will fire n run for bout 5 secondstill fuel burns out of the cylinder i guess,I am so lost and just about to give up, you guys are this cars last resortAsk if ya need more info and thx in advance

hmmm. Probably seems obvious, but did you change the fuel filter? The next thing I would check is the crankshaft position sesnors, they fail all the time in cadillacs (not in mine yet) and they give the same exact symptoms you are describing.

You would be surprise how much fuel is left in the fuel system even after you pull the fuel pump fuse and let it run till it dies. I did that, then started pulling fuel lines, and there was a ton of gas left int here. And a ton left in the fuel rails and injectors.

appreciate the replyfuel filter was changed......may be a dumb question but can you give me the location of the crankshaft sensor? passenger side, driver, front of engine? Manuals for this car are hard to findThanks

Ok problem solved..................Fuel pump modulator............trunk passenger side, Runs like a champ, thanks for the help

Thanks for the follow-up...may help me with a similar problem I'm having (and I just so happen to have an extra fuel pump control module).
