did you buy the wheels yet?if not dont get those fronts because they sit too close to suspension and the most tire youll be able to run would be 215 get the 17x9 +20 front and rear and you can run like a 235 or 245 all around, or run one of those up front with 255 rear btw if you get 245 get 245/40 not 245/45

thanks for the heads up nismofly!I didn't realize that i would be running into that problem with the fronts. Luckily I haven't bought the front wheels yet and only have the rear 17x9 +20 wheels. As for the 245's for the rear, the azenis are only offered in a 245/45. However, i'm still waiting on more reviews concerning some of the new tires coming out this season from Toyo, Bridgestone, and Kuhmo.

Yeah waiting on the kumho xs but i heard that they wont be available until the end of this season or so. I've been thinking about trying the new Dunlop Z1's. They've been getting really good reviews from some of the guys on the SCCA forums. Why do you recommend the 245/40 instead of the 245/45? I've driven on both the rs2 and rt-615's and like the azenis much better. As for my engine, its a basic SR swap in my s13 w/ all major bolts and a t28 at stock boost. Will be running an enthalpy tune and some 550's in the future so that i can turn up the boost. Whats your setup like nismofly?

im just running stock ka right now im finishing a bunch of other stuff before i touch the engine, pretty much everything besides cage will be donethe reason i ask though is because 245/45 is quite tall and youd be really better off squeezing a 255/40 up front if youd like the falkens, but again that will require lower offset so youd be either spacing out fn's or in the market for something else, your best bet being to get 5 lug since a lot of 5 lug wheels are available in 17x9 +15 to +17, and that subtle difference goes a long way in fitting a 255 on the front of an s13, be prepared to do some fender massaging of course

According to the top miata guys, the Bridstones are way better than the falkens, but if you are running 17's then the Neo advan's are the "IT" tire. At least they where last year. I'm still waiting as every one else on the new crop of tires coming out.

Are you referring to the re-01r's? if so, then yeah i've heard those are alot better than falkens.I think i am going to look for another pair of 17x9 +20 fn01s for the fronts now and run a 245/45 or 245/40 setup all around. Or if i come across a good deal on a different wheel with a lower offset in 17x8, i'll run those in the front instead w/ like a 235/40.

Im not sure what you guys are talking about with the S-13 as I have experience with the S-14.My S-14 has ground control custom front struts with no perch except for the sleeves and adjusters with a 2.5x5.5" in spring and its all I can do to get a 17x8.5 Enkei RPF1 wheel with a 40mm offset and a 245-40/17 victoracer on the front with a .125"spacer and 2.25 degrees neg camber without rub on the spring. Are you guys running these bigger wheels and tires in front with no neg camber or are the S-13s just capable of more clearance to the strut/spring than the S-14? No B.S. how can you do that?

s14 actually has 8-10mm more clearance with coilovers, and you might have more because youre running gc's, not sure how they affect wheel clearanceyour problem is your offset is too high, instead of the 17x8.5 +40 rpf1's you shouldve gotten the 17x9 +22, then you would have no clearance problems whatsoever running a 245 or 255, and you still probably wouldnt have to do any fender massaging

Thanks Nismofly for that great info. I'm new to this forum, but that was exactly the question I needed answered!
