2008 Sentra S factory stereo (middle) -- sat. pre-wiring included?

A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

Love the new 2008 Sentra S. Came with the middle stereo (not the base stereo, but not the RF pacakge). It's the one with the 6 speakers and aux input (no 6-disc changer, though).

Bought the CVT model with the Convenience package. Love the look of the factory stereo, the info display above it, and the factory Bluetooth. Hence, I don't want to get rid of the setup. Works for me.

Three questions:

1 - does this stereo have any kind of pre-amp outs? Doubt it, but have to ask. Otherwise, I plan on adding a Blaupunkt tB 200a 8" powered sub under the pass. seat (fits great I believe) and tapping into the speaker wires for the two rear desk speakers.

2 - does the convenience package for the 2008 S with the CVT include satellite pre-wiring, or is that only available with the RF package? If I can buy the factory Sirius kit from everythingnissan.com or courtesynissan.com, I want to make sure the wiring is in place before I do that. Of course, the dealer is clueless. I have a Sirius radio I can use with the AUX input, and I may do that. But, if a factory option exists, I'd like to go that route.

3 - is there a way to pop the external roof AM/FM antenna off so I can route a small Sirius antenna near it and route the antenna wire through that roof hole? Can't see a way to get that antenna off. With 2008 Sentras with factory satellite, does this antenna contain a built-in sat. antenna or something? I'm just assuming so.

Love the car so far -- great gas mileage, power and handling. I just want to go beyond my MP3 player and into sat. radio. I notice XM is a factory option, but not Sirius. So, it's confusing when you see a Sirius install kit like here:http://www.courtesyparts.com/M...SRBK2

This site implies that sat. wiring indeed exists in the S trim, even without the RF system. Just wanting to make sure.

Thanks!

I just bought a 08 sentra s 6spd with low end stereo, there are no out-puts on the back of the deck. although i did find out today that the stereo comes out NO PROBLEM, its cake work.1 just pop off the shifting cover panel (make sure to unplug the hazard button), 2 then pop off the climate control panel, both pop off really easy. 3 then pop off the top panel about the little orange screen (youll need a regular screw driver and a towel so you dont mess up the plastics) 4 then there are 4 screw that hold the stereo and little orange screen. hope that helps a little

Yep, I'm trying to find out the same thing. I've asked about this at my local dealer and at Nissan customer service. Dealer said non-Fosgate 2008 Sentra S w/ convenience package was not satellite wired. Nissan national didn't give me a useful answer at all.I don't want to invest in the sat unit without knowing it's compatible. I did check behind driver's side trunk lining and there appears to be a jack in the wiring harness. It's about an inch wide multi-pin connector. Question is whether there are any other wiring requirements up forward that were left out at the factory. Tech at the Nissan help link seems to think they're fully wired.Anybody here actually done an OEM satellite install on the 2008, non-Fosgate S?

Two sources that might be helpful.

1) The FSM. It will contain wiring diagrams for each of the different option packages. It may take a little sifting, but I bet it can be found.

2) Contact Crutchfield. By now I'm sure their dissection gurus have taken apart an '07+ and know what each package is wired for.

Good suggestions. Satellite wiring provision for mid-level stereo is not shown on the diagram on page 3/4 of AV. There appears to be more detailed wiring diagrams further on in that section, having some trouble getting those PDF pages to download, for some reason.

According to the techs, some vehicles are pre-wired and some aren't. I'm trying to find out if it correlates with certain packages or not.

Hopefully you'll succeed where I haven't been able to. Dealer gave me a flat NO. Nissan customer service advised they would check with their technical side and get back to me. Two months later they referred back to the dealer. Still, I hear people saying it is a straight forward install, same as '07 providing you have the convenience package.Be curious to hear what you find out...thanks.
