I agree, ebay prices for 19" tires are expensive... if you get a flat and have to go to a tire shop and get a brand new 19" tire, expect to pay $350 - $400+ for one tire installed! I got all four of my 20" Nankang NS-II tires installed for $500 out the door! You do the math!all4sho wrote:20 are a little cheaper and 20" tires are easier to find if you should have to find a tire. yes, but your tires are too small!also, what brand are they?windhaven wrote:FYI, my 19's (Tire) cost me $110 a piece. It's a matter of searching.

no, you're 100% correct, its purely the odometer that's affected. Ride quality wise, the side walls on my tires and your tires are the same thickness, so the ride is probably exacly the same!windhaven wrote:General Exclaim UHP's.
BTW - On the small subject, I'm interested in people thoughts on what the impact is running too small or too big.
Most that I've talked to say that the only real impact is the odometer effect, otherwise, it's purely aesthetics.
I agree, personally, i'd prefer 40's on mine, but the 35's don't effect anything material IMHO.
Thoughts?
a matter of searching so you have to look all over hell to find a deal or just find the right size 20's are ten times easier to findwindhaven wrote:FYI, my 19's (Tire) cost me $110 a piece. It's a matter of searching.

Interesting, the stock tires on the 3.5 coupe is 26.3" and from my calculations, without rounding, 245/35/19 tires are 25.75" Every half inch counts when it comes to the odometer/speedometer.dj figz wrote:i order my 19s last week with tires i got 245/35/19
and i paid 1149 for the rims tires lugs balanced shiped.
and i got the general explain uhp lol
which is a great tire.tirerack.com rated it #2 in the high performance class.
and going with 245/35/19 barly effects your odometer
heres the results:
stock tire:diameter-26.2revs/mile-771.0
245/35/19 tire:diamter-25.8revs/mile-783.0
with the 245/35/19 tires when your speed ometer reads 60mph you are actully going 59.1mph
this is in referance of an 07 altima sedan 2.5s
i used this website to come up with these numbers:http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

lol...umm, 245/35/20 definately... 245/45/20 tires are 28.6" in diameter, over two inches bigger than stock... very bad idea!milkacaduke wrote:thanks for the reply gus
so is it better to run 245/35/20 or 245/45/20?
I'm not sure about 255's, but folks on here have +24 offset wheels with 245's...as far as sticking out from the wheel well, that combo is about the same as running +35 offset on 255's.6sp3.5 wrote:Has anyone tried to fit 255's?
SO the total price will only be ~500 rigt? If so, that's a damn good price for 19" tires, tinstalled. That's the exact price I got my Nankang NSII 20" installed for... good job on finding a good deal ... are those Y rated tires?fyrmun37 wrote:Look into Nexten N3000 19" tires. I'm getting them mounted & installed today for $126 a piece. They're Korean with a cool tread and good for around 60,000 miles.
Very nice on all 3 occasions.LongBeachCoupe wrote:road tested thru AUTOCROSS... the only rubs i get are from the ladies! heheheh... I was also proud to be the only car on the track with 20s lol
no issues with rubbing or fitment...I have +35 offset 20 x 8.5" with a 1.5" drop in the front and 1" drop in the rear Eibachs)maxentropy wrote:Those with 245/35/20 or another size 20"-- do you have any issues with rubbing or fitment?
Doc, with your 245/35/20 your speedometer reads 2-3 miles higher or lowers than what you are actually traveling at? Any issues with fitment or rubbing? How far do those suckas stick out from the wheel well- if any?
Technically speaking, I could get 245/35/20 or 245/35/19 or 245/35/18 and be ok? But the larger- the more off my odometer would be?
Is gas mileage affected by larger/smaller tires? How much?
Thanks guys, finally getting the tire sizes and whatnot down.
