difference in transmission's?

is there any major differences between a sohc and dohc transmission? because im planning on going to picnpull for a clutch pivot ball studd but i have a dohc and the car ima pull it from is a sohc so would i be wastin my time?

transmissions are the same, im currently using a sohc transmission with my dohc motor i swapped in over summer.

should be straight

i dont think so ? i have a dohc transmission with my sohc motor with a twin cam clutch everything was fine..

okay so i went to picnpull and spent a good 4 hours for NOTHING i got all the bolts out and disconnected the drive shaft and the dam brace thing wouldnt unbolt! i need a breaker bar so to picnpull again tommorw i hope to finally get my part

Brace, as in the carrier bearing in the center of the driveshaft, or the transmission crossmember towards the tail end of the transmission?

Either way, PB Blaster is your friend. It has never failed me.

PB Blaster is a penetrating oil on crack.

Unless the bolt is stripped, blast it with PB Blaster and wait a few minutes so it can soak in. Throw in a wrench and a cheater bar and that ****er WILL come off unless it's welded there.

The crossmember should only be held on by four bolts to the frame rails. Not too bad. Just don't cheese the bolt heads, cause then you'd be ****ed.

i wouldve but my dad needed money for rent so now my card gets rejected when i try to put 2 dollars worth of gas
