the r34 here... the fact that there is no manual, yea i know that the new tranny is suppose to be quick and very good, but there is something a sports car should have.. the feeling of banging through the gears... and i still think the r34 looks better.. there my 2 cents

that doesn't even qualify as a question. Any enthusiast, any REAL driver would go for the R34. The R35 is a sport touring car, like an AMG Mercedes, the R34 is a sports car.

Stock vs. Stock, the GT-R performs slightly better. But the R-34 is only at about 25% of its potential in stock form, where it looks like the GT-R is at about 90%.

Definately take the R34 out of the two, I would prefer an r33 GTR, so hot. R35 is just too much money.

But if you had the choice between a Skyline R34 GT-R V-spec or the New 2009 GT-R which would you take? I also know that alot of you are going to say the new GT-R is way faster and this might not be a far comparison. I personally would take the R34 V-Spec because I really loved that body style. Nothing taken away from the new GT-R, its HOT, but I love the R34. What do you guys think? |
To be honest, now that the R35 is released and I've seen what it actually is...I'd be torn, really. I love the R34, but the R35 is really impressing me. Now, if it was a MINE's R34 (or a Z-Tune) then no question!

If you take the legality factor out of it.. which is what the OP was intending for this post... I would take the R34 hands down. I think R34 is more attractive. I think the R34 is an enthusiast car rather than a show off car. See this video for what I mean - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghviHeqCWLU I think the R34 can be worked on in my own garage without Nissan's computer systems. I think the R34 has more potential if money was unlimited. I think the R34 has better feel based on a manual trans vs. an auto. You don't have to pay Nissan after you take it to the track. You don't have anybody looking over your shoulder threatening to void your warranty if you race it.
