Hey Vroom... ever thought about putting the cup liner thing between the two pieces of the lid? Might look a little cleaner, and you wouldn't have to worry about it being uncomfortable. Haha, want to take a pic of what it looks like for us ? :P Great write up though, this will be what I end up doing, I think you have found the "final solution" for all cupholder problems in the 240.

Haha, part of the appeal of the 240 is you don't have to drive people. Should have said there's no room or something :P

I loved this idea- but I am short and sit too far forward to use that comfortably as a cup holder. So I stole the idea and made an ash tray cup holder. Cut a wood piece the shape of the ash tray- cut a circle out of it with a jig-saw and grabbed two measuring cups from the dollar store- cut the handles off both, the bottom off one and attached them. Some vinyl and adhesive later and I had a place to put my coffee in the morning.

what are the websites that you get your cup holders and liners from? I am very interested in this. Since you no longer make S14 cupholders I will take matters into my own hands. (actually my dad will, he is a vey experience upholsterer and this should be a walk in the park for him and has the materials ready available)
