sometimes you can find 'em painted pretty cheap on ebay or you can try http://www.car-part.com (auto recycler site). but learn from my mistake...if you have it painted locally make sure it is a baked on finish. otherwise you will end up painting it again in a few months (that beautiful flat nose catches every rock that bounces).

ohman... i feel for you- dam, cuz i had the similar thing happen to mine - ouch.

first of all ==it looks like you need a new bumper = rips = as i was told, cannot be repaired properly, and if it was, it won't last long... but do what you need to... the guy should pay for it.

anyways, i got it done at the shop that the idiot sed to go to - his frend's shop, and it [rear bumper] got done the first time and it was different colour! === mine is the pearl white - and is hard to match pearl white - but frick, it was beige! - so pissed,so i got it done again, and they ended up painting the whole bumper - pretty close in colour... but = anyways, it was a waste of my time,...

my advice, go to a good, relialbe, well known shop.

Lgood luck!

Oh wow! That really sucks, what kind of agreement did you work with the guy? Or are you going through insurance instead? I think I would of just killed him!

i looked on stillen, and they are waaay over priced. I found a bumper cover on the net for like 150. I think im going to go get a couple of estimates this weekend, just to have a rough idea what its worth. then i will have the guy pay me cash, and i will do the work, and collect the difference for my pain. sound good? My frends dad does paint, and body..he is really good too.

I would pretty much guaranty you that anybody who is driving in reverse is responsible for anything they hit. You're stopped, he's moving in reverse, he pays - turn it into his insurance company. Oh, and make sure the paint matches...don't sign off until the repainting is to your satisfaction.

The bad news, I believe Infiniti is one of the more expensive cars to fix when it comes to front end damage. That's the excuse they gave me when I wanted to know why my insurance went up so much for my new G.

No matter what he says, turn it into his insurance co.

Thinking before acting is smart.

Turn this in to the ins. co and let them do it.

I was rear ended once, and the guy claimed I stopped too soon and it was my fault. I went ahead and had my insurance company fix my car, and I paid the deductible. About 6 mts. later my insurance company took the other driver's company to arbitration and won. They reimbursed my insurance company and refunded my deductible.

Oh, and you get to choose the body shop too, don't take one that you don't feel comfortable with.

i told the guy id work with him..he keeps in touch daily. i feel slightly compromised doing it this way. But our deal is cash, unless its too much money, then we go the insurance route.

I just had the same thing, had mine repainted/fixed. I also had him paint the lip on the bumper and the side skirts.

My dealer priced a bumper for $291. Found a guy in town that could get me one primed and ready to paint for $150.

All said and done, I was out the door at $450 with install, paint and the side skirts done.

the guy is acting real shady now. he is saying he got laid off, and he dosent have the money. I really hope his insurance is valid. the paperwork he had at the time was expired. I may have to call the police. This sux. Well at least its under 600 bux if i have to pay for it myself. Id rather have spent the money on something else though.

I've probably heard of 10 cases where the guilty party offered to pay, and I can't remember one where there was actually a payment made.

Don't screw around with that jerk. You're in CA, and I assume his car was CA registered and he was CA license. In CA you need valid ins to have a valid registeration. File that form with the DMV, (whatever # it is) they will contact him and make him provide valid ins. If he can't, he loses his license, his vehicle loses its registraqtion and he faces a very expensive ticket, plus he doesn't get either of those back until you are paid!

Don't screw around with that fool toddnos, your G was too new and nice to put up with his crap. Trust me, don't waste any more time on him, do what you have to do, and don't feel sorry for the jerk.

I finally got my G repaired, got a brand new bumper, and its all good now. Here are some recent updates ive done to the sedan.:

I decided not to go with the coupe midpipe, i decided juust to remove to resonator box and put a straight pipe there. It sounds friggin awesome, really deep.

Also picked up a set of coupe 18 inch chrome wheelsand i just picked up a little bump for the trunkAnd i just installed a z tube last weekend, no pix of that...

My question is how does it sound with no resignator? The point of that resignator is to restrict high frequence sound (honda RICER fart can Noise)

So how does it sound... Maybe you could post a sound clip!

Love the chrome wheels lol

when its cold, it will get a little tiny bit raspy...but when up to temp, it just rumbles nicely, my buddies all love the way it sounds. i may place a smaller aftermarket resonator there when i get my axle back exhaust someday, but for now its perfect. that stock resonator box weighed in at like 40 pounds, so there is some weight savings too.

thanks for the comments on the wheels everyone!they are infiniti g35 coupe rims. i run 225 45 18 toyos up front, and 245 45 18 in back. just a little chrome polish, and elbow grease, and they got shiny
