Good ridence. I'm guessing you bought some POS Rustang, Craparo, or Fireturd, right?

Being able to light up the rear tires when there is no weight on top of them isn't a sign of "real power".

I prefer to be able to run 14 second quarter miles and still get 25+ mpg on the freeway. Have fun at the gas stations.

Wanna race for titles?

Wait - I have no use for a pickup truck that can't seat 5 comfortably.

Good-looking pickup though!

Take care and be safe.

You could have had a pinch of class and come in here and simply said you are moving on to a new vehicle that better suits your tastes at the current moment.

Was the 300zx too challenging to work on?

His car's intelligence matches his own. Clearly this IS now something he can work on. Something that matches his cognitive prowess. Something without a brain!

So stickers add horse power huh?? Actually the real reason I got rid of the car is it's hard to throw a deer on top of a Z. The wife isn't real impressed with deer blood ontop of the Trail Blazer.

no one here told you to put stickers on it, I save the stockers for my toolbox, I got dyno sheets and timeslips

and I can't shame you for getting a vehicle that better fits your lifestyle, I know a guy that drives a fox body mustang and periodically hauls 250lb slaughtered pigs in the back, the trick is getting them under the strut tower brace, I'd use a truck but he wouldn't hear of it

They aren't underengineered, they're just old technology. Especially a 1969 motor. Hell. The VG is old technology compared with the new VQ motors.

Try going around a corner in that truck.

What is "Real Power?" Yeah...you need a ton of torque to move a 2 ton peice of steel like a C-10. The same goes for a camaro. Cars can do more than go in a straight line if they're designed well. The z31 is far superior to any muscle car or truck in any way if you ask me.

Also; as far as quality goes, take any American sedan and take any Japanese sedan and drive them both for 250,000 miles. See which one will be in better condition at 250,000 miles. Chances are the American car will be long dead and the Japanese car will still be running, maybe needing a new headgasket at most.

Good luck with your "Muscle."

You know....I was just wondering the other day if a Nissan V8 would fit nicely under the hood, but I don't want to get rid of my stock transmission. ( That's NSR_s30 on the left, and me on the right.)

I highly agree. My 300 has over 256,000 on it and runs great. Granted I don't know what was done before I bought it (except for the fact that the "Bitching Betty" box under the hood was removed), but I had a 96 Pontiac Grand-Am I bought brand new off the show room floor in 96, and that thing had problems left and right before I even hit 100,000 miles on it. I performed all the necessary preventative maintenance on it (oil changes, tune-ups, etc) when those things were due by either mileage or date, and the POS still fell apart on me. I went through 4 water pumps in less than 3 years (Dealer installed). The transmission broke (luckily in my driveway) when it had less than 110,000 miles. One of the small pinion gears blew apart and literally shot through the housing . With just under 85,000 miles on the thing one of the O-Rings on one of the fuel injectors blew while I was driving it, and by some miracle I was able to drive home the remaining 8-10 miles I had to go. Personal opinion...most of Americas automakers designers are getting lazy. The may have different body styles/models, but they all look pretty much the same.

However I must defend my Mustang. My 99 V6 is near 175,000 and it's still going strong. Although I do try to take care of it with preventative maintenance measures.

Yeah, a good 68 Camaro, Z28, 4 speed, restored. That's what you should get. Probably cost you 15-20 years total wages, but what the heck, you'll have an American muscle car.

Put a little research into "American Muscle cars" and their ETs/Trap speeds. Then compare that with POS Jap cars like 350Z/G35/37s, even IS350s and other POS Jap cars by Subaru and Mitsu. (not to mention GT-R's etc). Checkmate.

Now back out the door quietly before you get even more embarassed.

Im not sure if most of the american auto makers are getting lazy. They are being forced to compete in an unfair job market. The import makers produce cars much cheaper than the american makers. Once you have multi billion dollar factory built it becomes very difficult to have it redesigned because of costs.

As far as designs, they are slowly coming around as vehicles with better fuel economy and more efficiency are becoming more and more the necessity.

The thing that kills me is that we have been sitting on the technology to produce vehicles that run on alternative fuels for the longest time, yet no one wants to take the lead and just release a solid line of decent performing alternate fuel vehicles. Especially when fuel costs are only going up.

I bet somehow the car enthusiast world could benefit from things like this: And its straight american.

watch the video if you haven't seen it.

the markst is totaly fair, I've had 2 Tenesee built nissan trucks (great trucks), my chevy truck is a POS from Indianna, a bud had a mexican built didge, and another friend had a canadian built ford

how many fords are rebadged mazda's? how many dodge's are rebadged mitcubishi's? how many Chevy's are rebadged suzuki, isuzu, or toyota

it's a global market, american unions make it hard for american manufactureres to to compete in america, don't get me wrong unions were needed at a time

at a time when everyone including the line worker could afford a new ford, now it seems only the line worker can afford a new car, those poor non union workers at nissan, toyota, honda plants seem to make a fair living without unions
