I'm looking at that stuff and I just have no idea how that could ever add up to $6 million.

Those McIntosh amps are maybe $5-8k apiece, the projector *might* be $75,000.....I don't know about the speakers but I mean c'mon, they're Snells, not Goldmunds. The DVD player is a TOSHIBA? Where's the Krell or Meridian hardware?

He's making a big deal out of the screen.....and I'm sure it's nice, but ultimately a screen is just a big white sheet, it's no big deal. It can't be THAT expensive.

I think that's a load of crap, at least in regards to the price. I'd love to see a spec/price sheet.

AFAIK, the most expensive speaker system in the world is the Kharma Grand Enigma Reference. It is an internally amplified 30 kilowatt (i.e. 30,000 watts) STEREO system and I have no idea what it's practical applicaiton would be:

P.S. Are those Mac amps tubes or are my eyes decieving me? Why in the world would anyone ever run a home theater system (i.e. digital source components) with tubes?

He's spent a few dollars on the room itself.. plus all the power supply, etc..

Can't fathom having money like that to piss away. Must be fun!

Why? 6 MILLION? No.

I could have 20 Ferrari 599s for that. Screw the home theater. I wouldn't care about watching anything in the theater if I had a different color Ferrari for every day of the month.

That HAS to include the cost of designing, building, all building materials, and decorating to come even CLOSE to $6 million. Even then I'm sure he used the highest prices he could find, then rounded up.
