I flip flop ever week or two on this but found out some news today that makes me want to start some other project so any way, im testing the waters on this if i dont get close to what im asking i aint gonna let it go, this was six months of my life after all.

You basicly get everything you would need minus the engine to bolt this in to your s 14 / maybe s13 to chassis.

Headersexhaustmotor mounts transmission Adapter plateClutch and flywheelTranny mountshifter and linkagedriveshaft alternator and power steering units , brackets and hoses Valve covers Intakeharness ecu aluminum koyo radiator, flexalite fans and linesoil filter relocationexpansion tanks.

All the steel braided hoses etcpartially used timing chain kit for your next motor, basicly everything you see in these pictures minus the engine

with this setup all you need to do is buy an engine and bolt it in and it will look exactly like this

I just added all the stuff up and have well over 6500 invested in this, i will let it go for 4500 obo, I know the price seems high but with this all you need is an engine and bolt in.

If you happen to part everything out, I'd really like to see if I can get some of the cooling system parts (water blockoff plate, braided lines, maybe radiator) and possibly some of your other PCV lines and oil catch system.

If I lived in Fl and had the cash I'd be on this like white on rice man. But I don't. I kinda hope no one gives you an offer, just to see you continue to develop your car/engine.

it is a shame you want to get rid of it. what is the news that has you thinking of a new project. i doubt you will part it out but if you do i would get your motor mounts and transmission mount from you. you thinking of a ls1 or something of that nature.

well the news is two part, some is personal which i wont get in to, but the public part is this.

I cant build it the way i want, boils down to im not willing to spend 10000 on this motor to get it where i want it. I dont have the time anymore to do it myself as im putting in 60-70 hours a week at work so i have to send it out. Maybe ill do it again someday turbo, but right now my goals arent really achievable with this setup ,i mean thats really the bottom line.

I will probably do an rb26 if this goes bye bye but who knows, maybe someone will find me a clean low mileage VH45 i can slap back in there with a vortech, god knows ive looked all the ones in miami are 150k miles + with horrible maintenece historys. IE open oil cap sludge and carbon.

Plus all the so called jdm vh45's have infinity logos so i dont know how the could be jdm.

I hate to see it go really, we'll see what happend i really doubt ill sell it as i doubr anyone will want to take on this type of project.

Not meaning to post jack, but I just noticed after looking at your pictures that you've modified the PCV system just like I was looking at (I think).....Do you just have one line running from the "Y fitting" in the valley, one line from each valve cover, to the oil catch can with a breather?

I bet for 2k you could have a good running, rebuilt engine. You've got a ton of parts engines, and at least one that I've seen that is already torn apart. Throw in some oversized pistons like T45 and I have, have the heads cleaned up and rebuilt if they're leaking, new bearings, and a few other pieces. I replaced a lot of parts on mine that after looking back really weren't necessary. After spending $650 on phase 2 injectors so I wouldn't have to pull the plenum again (hoping they won't go bad), I had to pull the plenum last night again and it took all of 20 minutes.

i hope you find a good decent motor for it, that would be a shame getting rid of it just because you cant find a motor after all that hard work.

Oddly enough, the JDM engines do have the "Fuji Mountain" on them, as shown in this yahoo.jp auction http://page17.auctions.yahoo.c...10763

I'd love to take this on, if I were 1000 miles closer.

T3 in ATL has a great source for VH's, it might be worth seeing if they'd help you source one.

Just to be a bastard, I hope it doesn't sell and I get the chance to hook you up with a set of cams this year, cos finishing that off is definitely on the cards! That'll give you what you want out of this motor. Gutted to hear you've lost your mojo for this though!

Sorry, I should have included it.http://www.t3auto.com/

They specialize in Q45 repairs. They're very well known and respected in the Q45 section of NICO.

Dennis (Q45tech) consults for them, but I don't think he's ever "there". Just let them know you're from NICO. They have a wealth of (stock) VH45 & Q45 knowledge and have always been very helpful to NICO members.

Here's a post about their experience and how it may "help" you get a good motor, though you may have to pay T3 some "discovery" fees.

We don't know if we have gotten a good one until the valve covers are removed and the guides are replaced...................exposing the insides.Same with pulling the oil pan and looking.

Luckily we buy enough so the wholesaler will take back our rejects.........we are still out time and labor getting to a reject decision but when you give a 12/12 warranty you better be right or you get to do a lot of new work free.

That's the problem people think of these as only $1000 engines when the proper process is $5,000.

What confirms a JDM takeout is the engine will come with exhaust headers that have no precats vs US model which have precats for emissions.

Since the Q was made in Japan the Infiniti logo was used after they rain out of Nissan oval logo even for JDM.They made lots of engines but sales were low in US so some logoed versions got used in Japan or Far East.

Doesn't really matter how clean the service record on a VH45 is, they're all pretty much rotten. I think you should consider a VK instead and maybe slap VH internals. It will handle that Vortech like a dream and all of the sensors, bearings, etc etc will be in muuuuuch better shape. If I could do it all over again I would go with the VK.

x2, the parts aren't expensive if you buy them yourself (shops will mark them up BIG time because they are oddball parts). There is nothing like a brand new rebuilt engine because you know what you're getting, and it does a better job than most people think of acting as a foundation for a "new start" to an old project.

I unfortunately spent a lot more getting my engine rebuilt than $2k, mainly since I paid a local shop here to assemble some of the more involved parts I'm not familiar and don't trust myself with. The bill at the machine shop cost me $1100 labor (I supplied all parts), but that included:

Cleaning lots of random partsBoring block to .040" overPolishing crankRebuilding heads with new valve stem seals and replaced one bad valveAssemble shortblock with my pistons, rings, and bearings

By far the most expensive parts were the pistons/rings/bearings and the upgraded timing components. Of course you end up spending $100 here and there, but it just depends how far you want to get into it. I spent almost $700 on phase 2 injectors from Deatschwerks because I didn't want to have to pull the plenum again when one died, but had to pull it off the other day anyway and took all of 20 minutes.

I really should have made a better list of what all I replaced. I can hardly even remember anymore now that it's put together.

The trans should be a Z32TT.

I can't believe you're ditching it and you haven't even rebuilt it, ported the intake/heads or added a nico ecu...you just ran the stock 100k+ mile engine.

Hope to see this go to good home.

I've had good luck getting JDM-takeout VH45's from SOKO in California.
